Just wondering, why is it ok for P. Williams to slim down and fight small men in the welterweight division who he always has height, reach and weight advantage over? Yet lightweights and jr ww challenge Floyd and he's wrong for fighting them? At some point you have to move up in weight anyway. If Floyd fought guys who were 5'3 I'd see the problem, but Hatton and JMM were both 5'6. Floyd is listed at 5'8 but he's actually 5'7 and a quarter. (I know because that's what they used to list him at in the LW division). Yet Paul (6'2) is fighting guys that he has a half of foot in height and a foot in reach over? I'm not knocking P. Wills hustle but I just would like to see people stop crying about weight and height. I can't blame the bigger man for knocking out a little dude who SIGNED THE DOTTED LINE to fight him. Nobody put a gun to their head. Usually the smaller dude is chasing that paper when he moves up in weight as Floyd did when he went to 154 to fight ODLH who stands at 5'11. I only used P. Will because he seems to be everyones "darling" boxer on here. Before you blame the big man, question the little man.

The Mayweather Jr/P. Williams double standard...

Well there is no double standards... I think if Floyd would of went to lightweight to fight JMM and beat him. He would get props for it... And, it would of looked crazy cuz he wouldn't of had made that weight in years. And, he would of gotten props for that...
The Hatton fight, was not really a big deal to me. It was a big money fight. I do think at 147 they were tougher and just better overall fighters then Ricky Hatton. I thought Hatton was the easiest safest bet over the top 5 WWs at the time. And, if Floyd would of went to 140 to and fought Hatton after fighting Oscar at JMW. I think Floyd would of even gotten more props...
But, what P-Will is doing and what Floyd did is not really the same... There is no double standards. You're comparing apples and oranges here.

3 Points:
1. Boxing doesnt have height and reach classes.
2. Paul Williams doesnt use his reach and height.
3. His only loss was to a WW who stands 5-8.

im a fan of may but theres no double standard. different circumstances. but may does catch a lot of flack for his fights. oscar was a bigger man and a hofer, hatton was not rly a smaller guy, he came in the fight weighing as much as he usually does. but w/e. ppl dnt like him, so they are goin to find somethin to complain about. the same thing ppl do to manny as well, just at a lesser extent.

nothing else needs to be added, all except for the fact that P.Will gets HIGHLY criticized for fighting at 147 by a lot of people
