Now, if the PPV doesn't have either Mayweather or Pacquiao in it; it probably shouldn't be on PPV. But it's funny to me that you're making such a big deal out of non-heavyweight PPV fights involving two black American fighters. Between 2003 and 2006 they were seven or eight that did numbers in that 300k-400k range. You had the three fights between Roy Jones and Antonio Tarver, the two Hopkins-Taylor fight, Mayweather-Judah, Hopkins-Tarver and I believe Hopkins-Wright did numbers in that range, but I may be wrong on that last one.
Point is, you had plenty of non heavyweight PPV fights involving two Blacks that did good business. Yet, you're on here insisting that there isn't a fan base for Black fighters.

you still didnt refute any of the examples that i posed in my previous post.
why wasnt SSM a draw? where are tim bradley, chad dawson and paul williams' fan bases? how come floyd cant sell out arenas in his own transplanted home town?
fights b/t two non heavy black americans can have pull, but not enough to put it anywhere near 3mill. as boxing becomes more and more of a niche sport, ethnicity plays a huge role in developing fan bases and generating buys. the latino community is a huge portion of the boxing viewing audience, if they dont have a horse in the race or for whatever reason dont have as much interest in either main event participant, then the buy rate cannot be maximized.

PPV obviously is going to be the bigger pie, but adding the extra theaters "might" push the percentage of sales up more.
I'd rather party at the crib with the crew. Bring alcohol, pitch in for the PPV, food will be provided, **********s (LOL not really).Last edited by RL_GMA; 03-04-2010, 03:37 PM.
