Did Martinez bite off more then he could chew fighting Pavlik?

Just wondering because Pavlik is a real Middleweight with real power. Hes a big ass dude. Hes been up to 170 vs. Hopkins and is moving up to 168 to fight Bute so hes a big ass dude.

I dont see Martinez hurting him at all. I also cant see Martinez having any answers for Pavliks jab. I think the power factor is what will do Martinez in.

i dont think so, i think he has a very good chance, he is a good boxer. maybe if he follows bernards gameplan he can have success.

No. Martinez puts it on Pavlik imo. Kelly couldn't handle the movement and workrate of Hopkins. Martinez will **** him down.

Martinez will have his moments in the fight, but he will eventually slow down like he did in the Williams fight. After that, I think it's going to be all Pavlik.

Martinez isnt 6-1 and 180 Pounds though. Hes not Hopkins and he doesnt hit like Hopkins. He wont gain Pavs respect.

I think Pavlik's gonna remind everyone why he's the Middleweight champ.

Martinez is really good, but he's been blown up really big since his fight with Williams (who again still doesn't know how to utilize his reach). He knows how to move around the ring, but Pavlik also knows how to keep his distance, but still be in front of you to throw that jab and an array of punches that each packs more power than Martinez up to this point has probably felt.

I expect a good fight, but Pavlik pullin off the win.

Thats another good point. Martinez gassed out big time vs. Williams. Pavlik has a good workrate but not Williams level workrate. I do think however that Pavliks hard body shots make up for it. That will take alot of him IMO.

WHY DO you guys overrate Pavlik so much? Really though, he's not that good.

I dont think Martinez will have enough offense to repell Pavlik's consistency, much how he failed to repell William's onslaught, he lost to Williams because Williams was more active than him.

Martinez doesn't need to make an impression with power to win. He simply needs to establish a rhythm of hitting and moving with regularity. I'm sure he'll have no problem with that. Pavlik isn't very fast, so despite his right hand power I don't see him scoring any big right leads on a shifty lefty like Martinez. Sergio's movement won't allow Pavlik to establish his preferred workrate either. Unless a new Pavlik shows up, he's losing his crown.
