I think Tito did the right thing. No reason to go on if you feel like you dont have it anymore. Trinidad was dominated from start to finish, I picked him to demolish Wright and could not of been more wrong. Imagine if it was someone like Jermain Taylor or Bernard Hopkins in there with Tito on Saturday, Tito would of been knocked out. The guy made over 20 million in two fights, why keep fighting and get hurt, Wright was suppossed to be a "safe" opponent in order to set up a fight against the winner of Hopkins-Taylor. A few writers and boxers whose opinions I really respect think Tito is a shot fighter.

Shot??? IMO just because a FIGHTER can't beat a BOXER doesn't make him SHOT!!!

Trinidad has fought many good boxers in his day, many good southpaws and he was never dominated like that in his entire career, not even close. I have no idea if he is a shot fighter but Trinidad is not in his prime anymore and not the same fighter he was prior to his retirement in 2002. Maybe Wright would of beat Tito a few years back as well or maybe not, but Tito would have never been dominated like this by a fighter like Wright. The facts are what they are, Wright coming off a close decision win over a smaller Shane Mosley, moves up in weight and dominates Trinidad in what is Wright's first fight at 160 pounds. Hopkins was banking on that Trinidad rematch, I know he is legit pissed off. A Hopkins-Wright match makes nowhere near the same amount of money.

Here's the thing: It is true Tito has fought many talented boxers BUT they all eventually ended up fighting TITO's fight, EXCEPT winky and Hopkins! Now, DLH had Tito beat BUT he got caught with a shot and was never the same and then after feeling Tito's power, he ran! Yes DLH was tired, but he still got caught even if for a split-second in Tito's type of fight! The result, he wanted no more and ran! Tito can't beat a well skilled BOXER who makes him fight their fight, it's just not possible for him. In order for him to do so he would need to learn how, in order for him to learn how he would need a new trainer, but that's not going to happen...

Damn, if only Trinidad decided to fight one last fight. Even against someone like Cherifi here in Puerto Rico. I swear that I would not miss that.

Tito has relied on his power for his entire career, he wont change his style no matter who the trainer is. Hopkins and DLH fought two totally different fights, Oscar boxed and ran while Hopkins boxed and fought. Hopkins stood his ground several times in the fight and went toe to toe with Trinidad, winning the exchanges. Trinidad got exposed as a one dimensional fighter, has nothing to do with fighting a skilled boxer. Tito is unable to adapt in the ring, in both defeats he and the public expected him to win by KO. When Tito was unable to KO Hopkins or Wright, he had no plan B. The Wright fight made me so mad, how many times does a guy get hit with the same shot before he says to himself that he needs a new plan. Even John Ruiz adapted in his fight with Toney, after boxing Toney for most of the fight and getting hit with Toney's right hand all night, Ruiz dropped the boxing and went back to his hug and tug style of fighting in order to try and win a few rounds. Tito barely made an effort in this fight, he landed in "single" digits in just about every round. I dont know why people just cant say that he is not the same fighter anymore, it makes him look that much worse when people try to make it like he is still in his prime.

And Jermain Taylor would take Trinidad apart. Taylor is faster then Wright, has a tight defense and is a very strong middleweight.

do you think going out on a loosing note will effect his legacy with his fans? with other boxing fans?
