In my history book he'll go down as the best fighter of all time but that's because I am admittingly biased towards him. No one comes close to prime Roy Jones.

.Poll. How Will History Remember Roy Jones Jr?

RJJ was a great athlete, not a great skilled boxer
he will be remembered for fighting good opposition early, then fighting a bunch of bums, capturing the HW division, then getting ****d by tarver and johnson, and green, and finally he will be remembered for ripping off boxing fans by rematching hopkins in a garbage fight.

I think Roy Jones will be remembered in the same category as a Larry Holmes.
A very good fighter that unfortunately didn't have the level of opposition to really solidify his greatness. In boxing your only as good as your opponents and Jones was in an era where he didn't have many good fighters at his weight class.
One of the greatest natural athletic boxers I have ever seen but I can't call him an ATG because he never really fought great competition outside of a young Hopkins. He did fight other good talent but the main reason that fighters like Leonard and DelaHoya are considered so good is because they fought great fighters.

He is one of the greatest to ever lace up a pair of gloves. His dominance was unparalleled. His physical abilities flawless. On top of that he is a great entertainer with love of the game and seems to be a good human being.
I hope history will be good to Roy but if it ain't he shouldn't care. Thoose who have seen know.
