it is not plain and simple.
1 guy has proven he brings more to the table than the other.
1 guy has constantly failed to do so.

Aside from the fact, that they are both popular.
    they are not both equal.

50/50 Means you are both Equal. Which they are not by any measure.
and if you think they are..

    Please explain how so..

Economically (numbers), Why should Pacquiao get 50% of the money????
Going by the numbers, what argument does Team Pac have to ask for 50%?

They are not equal, Economically. period.

And if Money doesnt matter why doesnt Pacquiao take the 40% and take this ifhgt for the fans he says he cares so much about?
I think it should be 50/50 for several reasons.

      1. They are the two biggest earners in the sport.
      2. They are the two best fighters in the sport.
      3. They need to be fair and 50/50, if Floyd asks for even 51% and Manny rejects, public will side with Manny and go against Floyd...especially as PPV there isn't much in it between them.
      4. There is talk about international revenue and Internationally Manny is bigger...they talking about putting it on PPV in England...here, Manny is preffered and more people would pay to watch him.

Furthermore, most Mayweather fans keep presenting this whole "compare their PPV with the same fighter and Floyd wins", that is one of the worse arguements ever in my opinion. Floyd and Manny were at different stages of their careers when they fought each man. Casual fans didn't really give a **** about the lower weights and this has to be in the equation. When Floyd was a Superfeather weight and Lightweight, he wasn't even on PPV, no one cared about him. He was still in the top 5 P4P, but no one would pay to watch him. Pacquiao when at Superfeather and Lightweight (while P4P 2-5) consisntantly got 200,000-300,000 buys....him and JMM hold the record for PPV buys in the lower weights at like 350,000 I think it is. Mayweather was never a draw at lower weights, and so why does no one talk about this? They were in different stages of their career. Yes Mayweather did 100,000 more against Hatton....but by then...he was well exposed on HBO, more so than Pacquiao. Not only that but he did that number prior to the credit crunch....Pacquiao Vs Hatton did 850,000 I think it was, while in deep recession. Pacquiao Vs De La Hoya was in a deep recession as well, and since Floyd has come back...yes Floyd's numbers have been slightly higher, but I don't think high enough for him to demand a bigger slice of the money. Mayweather Vs Mosley did 1.4million, Pacquiao Vs Cotto did 1.25million...there isn't a huge difference, and Cotto and Mosley are similar opposition. People say Mayweather drew 1.1million alone against JMM, he didn't, with it being Mexican Independence day, and his come back fight after a long layoff, it drummed interest.

Now what you got to realise is to hit those 3million buys they are wanting...they have to fight each other. Mayweather fighting any average fighter would draw 700,000 - 800,000 right now IMO, Pacquiao the same given the numbers he did against Clottey. So that means they draw 1.4million together? Hell to the no....those extra 1.6million people they plan on drawing are watching because they're finally fighting each other...over 50% of the buys are from them two slugging it out...not because its Mayweather vs a bum or Pacquiao vs a bum....together they pull the SERIOUSLY high numbers.

Yes you could argue Mayweather deserves a little bit more, but by doing so he'd completely **** up the fight and it wouldn't happen. People would accuse him of ducking and he'll miss out on the biggest payday of his life, as would Pacquiao. I don't think they'll go in demanding more...they'll say 50/50...they did so before, albeit in different circumstances....I'm sure they'll end up doing the same.

Of course i knew it would happen! Pac lost his leverage that he had in November after beating Cotto. Even when he beat Cotto it was hard to make a case for him getting 50% an even harder now. I knew this would happen.

          its not fair.

floyd pulled in 1.4mil and 11mil gate with a non-PPV draw and pac only pulled in 700k and 4.2 mil gate with a non draw.

plus floyd did over a 1mil PPV and 6.8mil gate with JMM before that.

60/40 is good enough. ****, pac should get only 35, the way i see it

Floyd has earned the leverage to dictate the negotiations, Team Pac's only choice is to hope that he his is fair. When you consider that all he wanted was for both fighter to undergo OST, I wouldn't be surprised if he made Pac lick his nuts now. Pac ruined his opportunity by walking out on what was originally a fair negotiation now he's about to get the real Money Mayweather, and he deserves it.

Floyd deserves the bigger split but i think he should agree to the 50/50 and USADA tests up until the day of the fight. That is a fair solution. Its bad enough team Pac are scared of the random tests no need to scare them off now with a bigger split, but he if absolutely demanded it i can see why he deserves it.

I don't even understand how you can argue Pac deserving a 50-50 split when Mayweather is clearly the bigger draw?
