Yordanis Despaigne, very good cuban amateur. some of his amateur fights.

this guy is the most overlooked of the cubans, he is a light heavyweight as a professional. he has wins over andre dirrell and jean pascal in the amateurs. also had very close fights with highly touted prospects genady golovkin and matvey korobov.

This guy could really make a mark in the light heavyweight division. He is what i would call a boxer-puncher that throws heavy punches from all types of different angles. Heres some of hgis fights.

id also liek to add that he will be fighting on the Johnson-mack undercard this weekend along with fellow cuban prospects guillermo rigondeaux and yudel johnson.

He looks good. I think hes pretty flat footed and he has to plant before he punches but he can make some noise there.

Did you ever catch the Lara fight?

yes i saw the lara fight.

he looked very good to me. going in with grady brewer in only your 10th pro fight and looking the way he did says something. In about a year lara will be in his physical prime, andi dont see anybody beating him, honest to god.

Did you see what I saw about how when he throws his jab he takes his left hand away from his face exposing it to huge shots. I love the dude hes in my avy but I honestly think if he fights a big puncher with a good right hes going to go down. Now obviously he can work on that this year.

I like his hand speed and accuracy too. But when Brewer got close Lara just covered up. He doesnt know hot to fight on the inside I think those 2 things will have to be stuff he improves on if he wants to make noise in a division with Dzindiruk, Williams, Martinez, Cintron, Kirkland, Angulo, Julio and Omar henry IMO.

His amateur fights look better than his pro fight. I'll have to see him in action in another fight.

yes i feel the same way.

matt korobov has stated it was his HARDEST amateur fight he ever had.

some people said it was politically fixed for a korobov win.

i dont know about that though.
