Comments Thread For: Manny Pacquiao: Fighter of The Decade, Fighter of The Year

The prestigious Boxing Writers Association of America have named pound-for-pound king and Filipino boxing hero Manny Pacquiao as the 2009 “Fighter of the Year” and capped the choice by also naming the superstar of the sport as the “Fighter of the Decade” effectively silencing the few who have dared to slander him and question his achievements in the ring by alleging he is on performance enhancing drugs without providing a shred of evidence. I disagree totally. Floyd should be it for Fighter of the Decade. The fact that Mayweather vs. Mosley will beat in PPV will prove who is tops once and for all.

Your a ***in idiot. For Floyd doing what? Ducking the best possible opposition the entire decade? I'll give him Corrales who was just about to go to jail. That's it.

I think if their was a round robin between all those guys there would've been a possibility that Mosley could've gotten it too if he would've beaten either Floyd or Pac. But the thing that's bull**** is the other guys that are contenders for it in my view are fighting each other while Pac is going after a Top Rank fall guy coming off a loss.
Decade already ended before they got a chance so this is a moot point.

Amen. Has there ever been a fighter winning more awards throughout a decade than Pacquiao?

I do not understand that the PPV will determine who tops it. If that is the case, De la hoya should be fighter of the decade.

Dude the award is from the last decade that ended DEC. 31, 2009.

It's still not right though no matter how anybody tries to spin it. I know Pac has better names on his resume than Mosley and Mayweather does. But I think there should've been something that took place to determine who's really superior out of the three by having them all fight each other. Is Pac gonna fight them? No!
