I was thinking the same thing about that post you were referring to. Some places came out with the lines slightly favoring Manny but the sharks took care of that and started betting Mayweather around 25k a pop. All of the sites I saw also had Mayweather as the favorite.

I agree that he will be considered an ATG becasue of the number of belts his has won at different classes, however if he fights a boxer that is on an upward trajectory within the weight class limits with no weight or rehyration restrictions he would look at lot more legit above Super Featherweight.

Nothing against the Pacman, he is a heck of a puncher for a guy his size and has pretty good hand & foot speed. His biggest weakness has always been his defense. I would still like to see him fight Mosely (within a year or Mosely will be too old as he will be pushing close to 40) and Mayweather in order to have a better guage of where he really stands at WW.

Yea man 3-1 is a bit heavy to be putting out there on a fight of that magnitude... No way the odds were that crazy. I mean when I first saw them it was pretty even money with floyd being a slight favorite and there was nothing that could of possibly come up to sway it to a 3-1. But, hey the dude said he was going to find out for me... I just want to see a legitamite site make crazy lines like that so i can be with the casino.

Especially the fact that he's won four lineal titles. Plus the number of definite and borderline future Hall of Famers he's beaten. His standard of competition has generally been extremely high.

Agreed up to a point, but few people really think the catch-weight had anything to do with Cotto's loss. Sure it was unfortunate that the fight was at catchweight, and I argued strongly at the time that Pac should have stood up to Roach and insisted on fighting under the normal rules, but Cotto didn't appear to be weight drained; he was only having to come down one pound compared to his previous fight; and it was Cotto who set the 145 limit, which he said he'd have no problem coping with. So I don't think it's reasonable to put any major question marks on the fight on the basis of it being at catchweight. It was blown out of proportion by many people - there was far less fuss when Whittaker-Chavez agreed to fight at catchweight, or when Hopkins-De La Hoya did.

Absolutely. But the Clottey fight will also be a good indicator.
