Good news, this will measure where Khan skills really are. Maidana is beatable but you have to walk thru his storm. This is how it is done, you take on all commers

          This is wonderful news!

The WBA ought to get a better English translator to write their articles, though - their announcement starts with the following nonsensical sentence:

A tentative agreement was reached between the parties and it was not necessary the purse bid for the championship bout between united kingdom’s Amir Khan and interim champion, the Argentinean Marcos Maidana , they came in to terms.
Anyway, it seems Khan has stood up to Roach and insisted on taking the fight, which says a lot about him. It's a shame he didn't do so earlier though, as all the negative speculation was harming his image. But good for him.

It will be a very tough fight, but I think he can win.

This fight will end in KO either way I think. Don't forget Maidana hit the canvas in the Ortiz fight.

There's method in his wildness. He landed plenty of punches against Kotelnik, who has a very tight defence. Some of his shots are bound to land against Khan, however well Khan fights. Then it will be the moment of truth.

Using his dramatically improved (since teaming up with Roach) lateral movement, and upper body and head movement, Khan should be able to avoid most of the punches and to take the sting off most of the rest. But some will land flush. When they do, he'll have to clinch effectively until his head clears, and then dance out of range. It will be a very tough and dangerous fight for him, but if he sticks to the gameplan for every minute of every round, then I think he can get a UD, although I'm pretty sure he'll be hurt a few times before the end.

Best news ive heard in a long time...

Thank *** khan didnt duck him and vacate the belt....i would prefere him to lose this fight then duck it....

ill be cheering him on even though i do think 1 big punch could possibly end it - 1 thing khan does have tho, and thats heart

He hit the canvas but was never really hurt - whereas he hurt Ortiz every time he got through. If Khan wins I don't think it will be by stoppage, I think it will be by UD.

I have a bad feeling about this one for Khan, if freddy doesnt feel he ca handle this right now, and freedy is the expert, then there is some aspect of Amir's game that is not up to par.
this could be a stratigic hugfest by Khan....
