'Why won't he (Pacquiao) just take the test?'; Answering Boxing's $40 Million dollar question

January 18, 7:29 PMDennis "dSource" Guillermo

As Teddy Atlas repeatedly said, "the man on the street" can't understand why Pacquiao would turn down $40 million dollars over some blood tests.
Sounds fundamental right? Especially how Atlas worded it.

Why won't Pacquiao take the tests?

Why won't Pacquiao ride his tour bus or fly in style in a private jet from LA to Vegas when he fights and insists on the same convoy he has taken in years?

Why does Pacquiao kneel and pray in a corner after every win?

Why did Michael Jordan insist on wearing his old basketball shorts under his NBA uniform for all those years?

Why do all these sports figures have these routines and habits that make no sense that they religiously follow to avoid being jinxed?

Why do suicide bombers throw their lives away for what they think are religious acts of martyrdom?

Why do people believe there's a God?

Why do Americans fear Friday the 13th, black cats and broken glass?

Why am I asking you all these things?

    Why, why, why?

Let me tell you why in Latin: "de gustibus non est disputandum"; in English "to each his own".

Perhaps the man on Atlas' street does not walk in mine and unless Atlas is promoting ignorance, I must say his statement hints arrogance, bias and paltriness.

Arrogance in the fact that he can shove a person he says he trusts to our faces without any proof and tell the world we should trust him too. I don't even trust Teddy Atlas, so why should I trust his "imaginary" friend.

Bias in the fact that he has stood by his statement without conscience nor apology and submitting someone under scrutiny for his shortsighted logic.
Paltriness in the fact that he inconsiderately threw an innocent man under the bus to be peppered by public scrutiny without providing anything tangible to substantiate the necessity of putting a good man's integrity in a tailspin.

In other words, how dare can this man tell me what the man on the street is saying? Has he been on my street? He has this excuse that he is paid to make an opinion, yet he hides behind phrases like "the man on the street is asking" or "I'm basing my statements on an e-mail seen by an unnamed source".

American fans do not make up boxing fans nor the majority of it. There's a whole world out there. I'm not saying Atlas is not entitled to an opinion, I am simply saying the manner he stated and the opinion itself he is trying to justify is distorted.

I only write and answer with facts. I don't believe a lot of things I read and I don't ask you to believe anything I say as well. What I guarantee you however is that I speak the truth based on facts and after careful investigation.

The facts states that Pacquiao is innocent. In fact, random drug tests conducted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission recently re-confirmed it.

I won't get in too deep with everything that's been discussed already. If you want to read the facts, . To cut a long story short, the answer/s to the $40 million dollar question lies below.

Pacquiao does not fight for money alone. In fact, he has given most of his money to charity. He fights for the honor, glory and integrity of his people as well, that's why his natural reaction was to sue the people that he felt have been spreading lies about him. With that said, Pacquiao intends to win and beat Mayweather. Submitting to the tests Floyd requires almost guarantees Pacquiao, whether it be physical and mentally, that he won't be able to perform at a level he feels he needs to be in for him to win.

    Also read:

Call it superstition, call it dumb, call it whatever you want. Pacquiao is not you though, just like Michael Jordan and all these other athletes who have their superstitions aren't. Who are you to tell them to change what they believe helps them become great without providing any form of evidence to deem your request necessary? And why is he being singled out?

If the "man in the street" wants the answer to what Atlas tries to make out as a logical choice, then he needs to get himself out of the street and live Pacquiao's life. He got his reasons, and if there's nothing in this Earth to substantiate the demand for him to get out of his routine, then why should he?

Who are you to castrate someone based on his religious belief? It may not make sense to you just like how it doesn't make sense to me why Pacquiao chooses not to fly in a jet from LA to Vegas and instead choose to sit inside an automobile for four long hours to travel. Isn't this the land of the free where people are innocent until proven guilty?

Pacquiao had his blood drawn 2 days before his fight with Erik Morales in 2005 against his will due to an alleged error by the governing bodies. Pacquiao almost pulled out of the fight because he insists he didn't want blood drawn out from him so close to fight night. He reluctantly yielded after much convincing. Then he lost. That simply justified his superstitions in his mind.

Pacquiao does not want to lose. He could very well believe this is his opponent's way to cheat him off a victory and he is entitled to do so. Nobody is above the sport and at the end of the day, if this drug testing is to be deemed fair, then in the spirit of fairless, let it be done to every single boxer at the professional level. I don't think the man in the street is dumb; they are simply misinformed. Unfortunately, a lot of people the man in the street listens to, people like Atlas, aren't really great sources of real information.

Whatever. You'll never come to grips with what the fans are saying such as these guys in this video which is the wide spread thoughts of most fight fans today. BTW, the I hope 'Lil Floyd doesn't back out of the fight with Mosley. JAT

Of course Mosley has to take the tests. He openly admitted to taking steroids before his DLH fight. And therefore he has no moral grounds to refuse such a test.

Whereas Pac needs to take the tests only to give in totally to Floyd's demands, which he doesn't have to. Floyd is not the commission. But Pac was still willing to compromise up to a point, but that wasn't enough for both sides. And some people will use that against him, even without any proof.

But with all the blind accusations, no one in the world can even name a drug or illegal substance to associate with Pac.

                    Not a single one.
