Straight from the horses mouth: Oscar will fight Judah

What's next for you? You're moving down to welterweight so when do you expect that to occur?

"Well it's no secret now that I am going to go down to 147 and looking forward to gaining that respect once again from the public and being a world champion. One of my aspirations has always been to be undisputed champion. We all know that Zab Judah, who is a great fighter, has all those titles and he'll be a tremendous opportunity for me."

When do you see that fight happening? Possibly in September?
"Well we all know that September is my favorite month of the year to fight because of the Mexican Independence holidays. September 16th is a big day for me and we're looking at September 17th. We've put that on hold now. And we'll see what comes up. Am I taking a big step in considering Zab Judah? Or should I take a tune up at 147? I have to think about it more, consider it and then we'll make a move."

We saw Roy Jones' move down from heavyweight changed him. Are you concerned that moving down thirteen pounds from middleweight to welterweight could hurt you?

"I'm not really concerned about. Obviously going up to heavyweight the way Roy Jones did is by far a difficult task in gaining all that weight and gaining that heavyweight title. It's by far even tougher for a middleweight guy to go up to heavyweight than a welterweight fighter going up to middleweight then coming back down. It's just difficult. It's difficult to do it as a heavyweight than what it is a welterweight. So I don't think it's going to be a problem. I think it's just going to be a matter of me feeling comfortable and making sure that I can go twelve rounds at that weight class."

Do you have interest in fighting any of the other guys at 147 like Antonio Margarito or Shane Mosley again?

"I'll never fight Margarito. I'll never fight Shane Mosley. That's no secret."

    You'll never fight them?

"No. I'm at the tail-end of my career. Obviously I have two more fights after me which I want. It's a matter of picking my opponent and making sure I pick the right opponent in trying to make history. You know, who ever has those titles at that moment if it's a Zab Judah or it's a Felix Trinidad, who I'm trying to make a rematch with at 154 or 155. Then those are the fights that I really want. Other than that I'm not thinking about no (Floyd) Mayweather. I'm not thinking about no Margarito. I'm not thinking about no Shane Mosley. It's not going to happen. It's just not going to happen. I'm not going to fight no Margarito. I'm not going to fight no Shane Mosley. I'm not going to fight no Mayweather. So if anybody is telling them that I am going to fight them it's not going to happen."

Naw, just seems like he's being realistic. He ain't got that many more fights in him and wants to win the belts from the recognized welter kingpin for his own legacy.

Then, he said he'd like to finish his business with Trinidad. Sounds reasonable to me.

        hmm

I 100% agree with Bushido. If he isn't afraid of Tito then he wouldn't be afraid of Margarito or Mosley. Besides, he already beat Mosely and he probably just doesn't trust the judges if he were to fight him again.

Oscar wants to undeniably be the champion. He can do that vs Judah.

What I don't understand is that he went to 160 to fight Nard, but says that he would fight Tito at 154-156...When Tito has said over and over that he won't go down from 160...If he wants that fight so bad why don't just fight him at 160...he must be like 180 right now..

Did you see how he looked at 160 with BHop. He was out of shape and had no power. he wants to take Trinidad down to where he has an equalizing power.

What makes you think that he will have an easy fight against Mosley when he lost twice to the guy...
