The only problem I have with either fight is that either fight is taking place. It should be Pacquiao vs. Mayweather in the ring, not on dueling PPV events.

Even though it'll be an easy lopsided UD win for Mayweather, Cintron makes it interesting because of his power. I hope that's the fight.

Former welterweight champion Kermit Cintron was favored by promoter Oscar de la Hoya to face the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. on March 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

De La Hoya believes that Cintron is an excellent matchup for the 'Pretty Boy' who also analyzes the boxers Nate Campbell and Paul Malignaggi as possible rivals.

Cintron's name surfaced last Monday as part of some expressions made by the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions Richard Schaefer about the controversy over the selection of the March 13 date for the conclusion of fighting in Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas, and Filipino Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey in Dallas, Texas.

"Kermit Cintron is a great choice, but the group is that Mayweather Jr. will have to decide. But the possibility is very great, "De La Hoya.

"Mayweather Jr. wants to fight one of the best welterweight and Cintron is considered one of those. It is a natural welterweight and now he learned to box more looks like a tough opponent for Mayweather Jr. If Cintron decides to take a distance would be a good partner fight, "he said.

Cintron last fought on 24 October at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente achieving a technical decision win in the fifth assault on Juliano Ramos. His only two defeats were against Antonio Margarito. The first in 2005 and then in 2008.

The Puerto Rican based in Houston, has brand 32-2-1 and 28 knockouts.

Wow Floyd's been boxing since he was little. Cintron just learned how to box. Wow this will be competive! LOL Cintron won't land a punch and the fight wil be one sided. Lets see if Floyd can make him cry like Margarito did.

Among the possible candidates to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. on March 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya says former champion Kermit Cintron has a very good chance of landing the fight. De La Hoya saus the choice is not his. Mayweather's team will make the ultimate call on Cintron and other possibilities like Nate Campbell and Paulie Malignaggi. Cintron had a good 2009; fighting to a draw with Sergio Martinez, pulling off an upset over Alfredo Angulo and winning a showcase bout in Puerto Rico. [Click Here To Read More]

Yeah, I wouldn't mind this fight. At least he's a legit WW/JMW. Cintron is big and has a powerful punch. I'm not really a fan of Cintron buy this is a decent fight.

huh, thats wishfull thinking right there, imo he has no intention of fighting mosley and cheato, he may go for cotto at some point since cotto is probably damaged goods now, but i have my doubts if even that would take place

Could you imagine if Cintron slipped a big power shot and KO'd floyd? lol, the world would explode.

On the real this fight is better than campbell, but I don't see this one being very competitive.

On the plus side though WHEN HAS CINTRON EVER FAILED AT BRINGING SOME DRAMA?!?!? The answer is NEVER! lol either he's crying his eyes out against margarito, he fakes a hand injury against some bum or he's getting hit by phantom headbutts. Whatever the case, Cintron fights are ALWAYS entertaining, no matter what.

If Floyd is boxing his ears off I could see a complete self destruction by Kermit by the 7th or 8th round, something to go down in the history books! Maybe he'll start crying and throw the stool at floyd between rounds or somethin like that hahaha

Cintron's a 2 time IBF champion at 147....if Money picks him and people still complain then i don't know what they want..

He's probably a tad better than Clottey as well.
