Why wouldn't Cintron be acceptable? The dude is looking like a natural JMW, but we all know his punch at 147 is incredible. He was knocked out twice by Margarito in wars while they lasted, and even though he lost twice to Martinez in one fight, he still was competitive with him (though he didn't deserve a draw). He beat Angulo... I'd absolutely love to see Floyd fight him.

I have very little interest in a Campbell fight, but even less in a Malignaggi one. Tim Bradley would be good, but I doubt that's even an option. If he just has to **** on Pac's parade by fighting on March 13th, Cintron is the best of the names that realistically have a chance of being picked.

I watched his fights on TV and I attended a few of his fights in person (emmanual burton at the cobo center, jc castillo and gatti). I probably have had Floyd ranked #1 pound for pound since Jermain Taylor upset Bernard Hopkins in their first fight. Real talk.

With that said, Mayweather fans, WTF happened to our boy? Lets not play the denial game any longer.

As a Mayweather fan you know good and damn he's full of **** these days. This is not the same "Lil Floyd" that we fell in love with (no ****). Right now, roids or not, Manny Pacquiao is doing the things that Floyd used to do.

I think Floyd is still capable, but he needs more heat under his ass. In no way, shape or form is Nate Campbell, Kermit or Matthew Hatton acceptable.

The walls have closed in on him. The only viable opponents are Williams and Mosley (or berto if he wins). Lets stop supporting everything Mayweather does and call a spade a frickin spade.

Floyd at this moment feels that boxing fans (including his fans) are beyond DUMMIES. He feels that he can fight any ****ty fighter he wants and then give us lip service telling us how great the opponent is. Are Mayweather fans really that ******? I know I'm not.

I will not support a PPV or anything else if Mayweather isn't in the ring with a top welterweight opponent next. Bottom line.
u fight for tha right to get to floyds position in boxing.he has paid his dues.he deserves to pick an choose who he fights.if he ios hellbent on a march 13th date, their really aint any options.clottey, mosley, berto are booked.cotto on suspension, rito is thru.if he has to fight a smaller guy,i wouldnt mind paulie, bradley or campbell.i really want to see campbell get a big pay day

The fight I don't really care much for is Malignaggi because he ain't far off a lightweight .I'm not to bothered i'd watch it anyway but Hatton whooped him and you seen what Mayweather done to Hatton .Matthew Hatton will probably get critics in the UK off the boxing fans but at the end of the day when fight time comes they'll all probably just watch it or buy it anyway. I wouldn't give a f--k tbh .It'd be on at a decent hour so a few beers and i'd be happy.

I can understand your frustration. I am frustrated as well. I really wanted to see the Pacquaio fight. However, I am bother by the double standard that people hold Floyd to. Pacquaio refused the fight (you can sugarcoat it anyway you want, but that is what actually happened) and is now fighting Clottey. Clottey is a fringe contender who lost his last fight. He has never beaten a top welterweight and routinely finds a way to lose his biggest fights (Baldomir by DQ, Cotto by giving up). Yet there is very little criticism by boxing writers or websites about that choice. He could have fought P-Will as some are suggesting for Floyd or he could have fought Timothy Bradley. He chose the easiest opponent he could find who would give him a good contest, but lose in the end.

In regards to Floyd, I wish he had never retired to begin with. However, in fairness to him, he did say after the De La Hoya fight that he wanted to take some time off from boxing. I would like to see him fight either Bradley or Cintron next. In my opinion, Cintron would be the equivalent of Clottey and Bradley is the only other decent opponent out there other than P-Will and Martinez (which won't happen as long as there is $15 million or more on the table against Mosley and Pac). I would be disappointed if he fought Campbell or Matthew Hatton. I would be disappointed if he fights anyone other than Cintron or Bradley, but I won't stop supporting him. I do think he should fight Mosley/Berto winner or Pacquaio after the March fight and then fight the best at 154, whether it is P-Will or Martinez.

Reading crap on this message board and on boxing websites in general, virtually all of which are biased against Mayweather, can jade your opinion and actually make you angry if you take it too seriously. I don't buy anything I read unless it comes from the mouths of Mayweather's team. I don't believe he is going to fight Nate Campbell or Matthew Hatton. I think he is going to fight a top quality opponent in his next fight.

no, floyd has not earned the right to fight whatever bum he feels like. that would make floyd bigger than the sport of boxing and he's not.

just because floyd fought tough comp in his earlier career, doesn't mean that once he becomes a millionaire he can put it in cruise control.

de la hoya is/was richer than floyd and he continued to fight the best of the best throughout his career, young and old.

You guys are underrating Campbell and Timmy, they'd trouble Floyd

              Pissed off - Malignaggi, Hatton

Wouldn't mind - Campbell, Collazo, Cintron

Delighted - Bradley, Williams, Wait for January 30th ( Although i think Floyd's stubborness and Ego will push him to go head to head with Pac )

I very much doubt he waits, if he wants to make money he should fight Cintron

                You made some good points.

Let me just say this though in fairness to Pacquiao. His last fight was Miguel Cotto. In all honesty, he's the one that should be looking at Matthew Hatton or Nate Campbell next.

Pac hasn't had a "soft touch" since David Diaz... if Pac continues down this path he'll lose pretty soon. He's only human.

Meanwhile Mayweather hasn't really challenged himself since De La Hoya at 154.

Cotto isn't a realistic option ( Arum won't allow Floyd to fight any Top Rank fighters after this debacle )
