Bottom line is there is no tougher fight for Pac @ 147 style wise than Floyd Mayweather Jr.....Pac knows it, Arum knows it and you better believe Roach knows it..... Sylistically who would pose a greater threat to Pac @ 147???
hatton gave floyd some tough rounds and it was at 147 which hatton had only once fought at before and he did not look good at the weight. PAC killed hatton in 2. Delehoya was a split decision for floyd. yea he was drained against pac but pac dominated every round and made him quit on his stool. cotto knocked judah out and clottey dominated him. Floyd got dropped by judah before going on to win on cards. Gatti had been in so many wars and was done when fought floyd, he only threw like 10 punches. JMM had never been dominated like he was against floyd. BUT FLOYD MADE HIM COME UP 2 WEIGHT CLASSES AND THEN MISSED WEIGHT AND FOUGHT HIM AT 146. marquez at super feather where pac fought him and lightweight is not the same as at 147. EVERY OTHER WELTER WOULD HAVE KNOCKED JMM OUT AND FLOYD COULDN'T. the corrales fight was good fight for floyd cause he comes straight forward. i'm not even going respond to the baldomir comment. Ive seen all these fights and i recommend you do before you start pumping gutless gayweathes tires again.

Floyd did. Clottey shut him out 87-100 and knocked him down
twice. Unlike Floyd, these guys did this when Corrales was at
his peak.
Gatti ----> Oscar dela Hoya
JMM ----> Mayweather faced a 36-year old lightweight who was drinking his
own pee, what do you expect.

by him, i mean this guy:
he'd last 15 seconds against pac (5 seconds and the count of 10)
you're an idiot, so it's not surprising that you buy all this crap

Something i posted a while back on another thread on how i think this fight can play out........option 2 is what i think if floyd brings his A or B game....option 1 if he brings what he came to the table with against JMM....
Mayweathers strategy for this fight will be keep his lead foot on the outside of Pacs lead foot and constantly be moving away from Pac's straight left. Should Pac throw a right hook to move Mayweather in the other direction....Floyd will shoot a straight right followed by a left hook. He will prob do that anyway. That is how you fight a southpaw....str8 right lead followed with left hook. Its also better if u can beat the fighter to the punch. See the Judah fight. Ledermans comments were **** on. "The guy gettin off first is landing the better punches"
Now that is the reason Roach is worried about this fight. Conventionally you should not throw a straight right lead against another orthodox stance fighter. Floyd does it and gets away with it all the time. So if he can use it successfully when "conventional" wisdom says not too.....he sure as **** can use it when the conventional wisdom says YES.
Lets be clear here.....Pacs best chance is in the first 3 rds. A southpaw has an advantage in the first 3 or 4 rds of a fight because they are accustomed to fighting orthodox fighters (right handed), whereas most orthodox guys rarely fight lefties. This is why Mayweather had trouble early on against Judah and Corley...but once he figured them out and adjusted he began to break them down.
The reason Pac has gotten better is because Roach has taught him how to throw that right hook as an offensive weapon in its own right and to set up the straight left. As a southpaw having a right hook will make you a much better fighter. A more complete fighter......for further proof see martinez. He is a good southpaw because he has alot of tools/punches in his repertoire.....ie. see the right hook that floored williams.
I see this fight unravelling only 2 ways:
1. Floyd has trouble with Manny early and maybe gets caught cold and goes down and dosen't make it up OR loses a decision by the time he figures out how to go about his business.
2. Floyd has trouble with Manny early and gets caught a few times...but manages to see everything coming and takes the heat off and is never really in danger. Manny wins 3 of the first 4 rounds. Floyd starts making the necessary adjustements in timing and punches that work.....he keeps moving and poitshotting 1 or 2 shots at a time....frustrating Manny and weating him down to a UD....winning 7 or 8 out of 12 rds. Maybe if he catches Manny with a str8 right to the chin with soime heat an Manny does not see he will put him down in the fight.

Hate to break it to you....but Corrales was aout 28-0-0 with about 26 KO's when he fought Floyd......he was knocking people cold left right and center....the bookies had mayweather slight favourite.....the ring side experts and writers had it 50/50......Floyd fought the best version of Corrales that ever existed.....he just had nothing for Floyd @ 130....

ODLH got hit plenty of times against Gatti....he whooped him yes......but he took alot in return....Floyd flat out destroyed him and toyed with him like a cat does to a mouse.....@ 140 aswell not 147......who else has done that to him??

knocking a boxer out earlier than another boxer does not mean you dominated him more........you have to sell out and get hit to do that....i'm talking about knocking a guy out in an utterly dominant fashion where he literally has no idea what to do against you.....

I agree with Hatton....as bad as his defense is...he is a difficult match for any fighter because he has quick feet and good stamina...there is not alot of fighters who make you work the full 3 minutes of every round like Hatton does...
If you really know how to score a match you would see how absurd a SD was in the Oscar fight. I recommend u watch on youtube 2 or 3 times. Floyd beat Oscar easily as a welter fighting a 154 pounder. Floyd won 6 of the first 7 rds. Contrary to popular opinion the fight was not close at all....floyd won 8 rds minimum....i had him winning 9....Oscar didn't land anything meaningful and flurried in final seconds to try to "steal" rounds. People thinking this fight was close is a pet hate of mine.....Oscar lost it easily.
Cotto did KO Judah.....but he had to work for it and Judah had him in serious trouble....Clottey fared about the same as Floyd did.....both lost 3 of the first 4 rds but broke Judah down the stretch....yes Judah did get a KD against Floyd that wasn't seen...but ultimately was inconsequential....Judah low blowed + rabbit punched Floyd to avoid gettin KO'd......i have the Floyd vs Judah fight.....seen the full fight literally about 8 or 9 times.....he made Floyd uncomfortable in the first 3 rds...he never had him in trouble.....after the 5th and 6th Floyd started laying on the punishment........
