First off... Not a ped. Secondly, its not illegal within a week of the fight, and he has never tested positive for a post fight test, which the always do.

The issue here in Las Vegas has been whether or not lidocaine was permissible. The drug is not on the banned list of the World AntiDoping Agency (Wada), yet it has been ruled illegal by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), under whose authority the contest is being run.

Kizer confirmed yesterday that lidocaine is banned for use by boxers within a week of a bout. “If lidocaine is injected,” he said, “the pain receptors in the boxer may not work and he may not know if he is hurt.” He also confirmed that lidocaine would be tested for after the bout, at the Quest Diagnostics laboratory in the city.

          The Washington Post | February 19, 1989 |
In a prepared statement, British boxer Lloyd Honeyghan said he has requested a Nevada State Athletic Commission hearing after it said traces of Lidocaine, a banned painkiller, were found in his urine samples

this has been tested for the past 20 years in nevada........

Lidocaine is a substance banned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. But Marc Ratner, CEO of the commission, said there is no violation as long as De La Hoya informed the commission when he took it and why.

            it is a PED.

Painkillers mask athletes' pain so they can continue to compete and perform beyond their usual pain thresholds. Blood pressure is increased causing the cells in the muscles to be better supplied with vital oxygen. Painkillers used by athletes range from common over-the-counter medicines such as NSAIDs (like ibuprofen and acetaminophen) to powerful prescription narcotics.

it is illegal if used a week within the fight and the actual fight itself.

dont duck me from thread to thread.

why was floyd opposed to xylocaine being banned in his fight against ricky hatton?

why was floyd opposed to urine tests that specifically target xylo in his fight against ricky hatton?

Duck from you? You never aswered back to me in the last thread.

You cannot accept these FACTS. You just ignore and ask a biased question.

FACTS::: Only illegal within a week of the fight.

              Tested for after every fight.

              Floyd has never tested positive..

Theres nothing else to know, unless you have some source stating my facts are wrong, STFU.

              WIKIpedia for real?

SHOW ME A SOURCE WHERE FLOYD SPECIFICALLY OPPOSES XLYO TESTING IN THAT FIGHT.

HE WAS TESTED DIRECTLY AFTER THAT FIGHT, AND IT WAS NOT POSITIVE.

why would anyone use xylo in training? to hit harder against the heavy bag?

cheaters use xylo during the actual fight.

a line where he opposed testing?

However, the Mayweathers are unhappy that lidocaine has been specifically identified as a drug that cannot be used.
“We’d all seen the stories about Mayweather’s hands and we had heard rumours that he uses lidocaine,” Williams said. “So we just wanted to make sure that they complied with the rules and that it would be tested for.”

The request did not go down well with John Hornewer, Mayweather’s attorney. Williams said: “He responded by saying: ‘Well, what about grappling?’ I quite facetiously responded: ‘I didn’t think you could test for that.’”
There are different tests made on urine samples.

The Hattons’ concern was that, although NSAC bans the drug, if the urine samples that the boxers are obliged to give afterwards were sent to a Wada-accredited laboratory, then lidocaine might not be tested for.
Floyd opposed test methodology that targets xylo. read the story again.

he tested negative for xylo in his hatton fight, yes. but let me ask you this. if he was told that urine tests were targetting xylo use, would he still use the banned painkiller? of course not.

another question. did floyd's previous urine tests in previous fights target his xylo use?

he is a xylo user. fact.

A lot of haters and biased members in this thread.

Floyd fought outside of Vegas in the last 8 years. Show me proof of Mayweather failing a post fight drug test for his pain killer. I didn't see you guys complain about DLH and Holyfield using the pain killer, but now everyone wants cry about Mayweather using the pain killer.

DarthVoid - Yes, the medication is consider a PED by some people, but this is not the same type of PED we are talking about in other threads. 99.9% of members on boxing scene have taken a PED. Advil and Tylenol is also consider a PED by some of the same people who consider Xylocaine a PED. Why didn't Floyd fail his post fight drug tests in Michigan and New Jersey for Xylocaine?

Floyd is not allowed to use Xylocaine 7 days before the fight and not allowed to use it on fight night. Floyd wants Olympic style testing for both fighters. Why would Floyd ask for Olympic style testing if he's illegally using Xylocaine in training camp? Think about that...

Manny rejected the Olympic style testing. Xylocaine doesn't make you a better fighter, doesn't make you a smarter fighter, and doesn't make you stronger.

If Manny, Roach, and Arum felt Mayweather is getting an advantage by using Xylocaine... Why didn't they say anything about it to the media or in negotiations?

did his urine tests target xylo? there is no single standard urine test. some test for xylo. some, which follow WADA standards, do not. if he used xylo for a fight and the test ws not designed to detect xylo, it will not show up.

if he knows that a test will target a banned drug, why would he use it? again, i want to know if his previous tests were using wada standards because those do not target xylo abuse.

Manny rejected the Olympic style testing. Xylocaine doesn't make you a better fighter, doesn't make you a smarter fighter, and doesn't make you stronger.

I don't know why Team Pacquiao didnt. But Ricky Hatton's camp raised a ruckus.
