Clottey broke, or hurt one of his hands against margarito. He was winning the fight prior to that, although Clottey has shown a tendancy to fade late in fights like he did against Cotto, so who knows what would have happened.

LOTS of people thought Clottey beat cotto (I scored the fight 1 point in favor for cotto, the KD being the difference).

Obviously dude is legit. He's a top 5 welterweight.

Pacquiao, Mayweather, Mosley, Cotto & Clottey *. Those are the top 5 guys, so for welterweight fights, obviously CLottey is the best available option.

*You can make a case that berto is top 5 but imo his resume isn't as good as Clottey's. We'll see what happens on Jan 30th.

Clottey is a very good fighter, also has a very good chin, is tough and has a good defense. It should be a good fight. No where near the levels of Pac-Mayweather, but oh well.

Clottey's style is perfectly catered for Pac, Hell make Clottey into a punching bag.

His first lost was a disputed DQ to Baldomir. Some thought he was winning the fight but was Disqualified for headbutting too many times.

His second loss was to Margocheater. Now no one can say 100% either way, but Clottey was winning the early rds than started to be less active in the late rds. In rd 11, Clottey pretty much ran away- the gloves could have been loaded or maybe not? Yet two judges had the fight fairly close
          116-112.

His final loss was to Cotto, a fight he landed like 30-40 more punches. I scored it a 114-114 draw, 6-5-1(even), and with the kd it was even.

Nonetheless, Clottey has another chance to prove himself. I think it will be very close as long as there is no catchweight or weight drainning.

Pac will be tested mentally with the issues with Jinkee, politics, and the mayweather opera. i dont think it will be distracting but who knows?
Dude he is ***ing boring and is tailor made for pac
he is not busy enough to throw pac off his game
this is an easy win for pac
          plain and simple

I thought that he lost to Margarito clearly. Yeah, maybe Marg was wearing illegal wraps, but the key in that fight was how Clottey seemed to virtually give up after 4/5 rounds.

I scored his fight with Cotto 114-113 for MG. Close fight, but IIRC most felt that he deserved to lose that one. I don't regard a decision as questionable unless most people disagreed with it.
Clottey had an injured hand by all accounts and that is what his stopping throwing is attributed to.
