118 pound fight for an interim title. VALDEZ taking on the champion, WBA interim 118 pound, CERNENO.
ROUND ONE:
Valdez begins cirlcing, now they both take steps to the side. Both missing jabs. Cerneno hitting Valdez givigng him angles. Jab misses for Valdez. Both missing in a slow paced round. ice one to the body then up top for Cermeno. Then he misses wide. Waldez gets his blocks slightly blocked, but decent. Touching jabs. headbutt and the ref calls time. Valdez bleeding, pretty bad cut. The doctor lets it continue. Decent pair of uppercuts from Valdez. Then another combinations. Decent left hand from Valdez. Counter shot by Cermeno as the round ends.

ROUND TWO:
Both come out on their toes. Big left misses for Valdez and Cermeno counters with a shot a few punches later and Valdez hits him with a shot that drops him. Valdez gets up and he seems up, but Cermeno is still hitting him with some good shots. Cermeno backs up but his speed and accuracy is allowing him to counter well. Both miss lefts, but Cermeno keeps attacking with the left to the cut eye. Again Valdez goes down, but not as clean this time. Wild hard shots from Cermeno keep missing. Cermeno hitting him with a few hard shots, but Valdez sneaks in a solid shot of his own. Cermeno hitting to the body that must sting. A solid four punch combination that Cermeno throws. Valdez looks bothered by the cut.

ROUND THREE:
Both pawing with jabs. Sneaky left from Cermeno. Both in the center of the ring now. Cermeno missing with the right. Then he misses another shot before he sneaks in another right hand. Uppercut for Cermeno connects well enough. Both swinging wildly at this point. Popping right thru the middle. Both missing, tieing up then moving away. Good right hand by Cermeno. Both missing shots, then Cermeno moves away. Two smaller shots by Valdez get reacted to by a hard right from Cermeno. Solid shot from Valdez wakes the crowd up.

ROUND FOUR:
Valdez takes a left as he comes in and Cermeno continues to stick with the jab. Circling. Nice uppercuts from both. Cermeno is hitting him well and pushes Valdez back with the shots. In and out for Cermeno. Cermeno winning the jabbing contest. Cermeno counters a right with a left. A solid right hand for Valdez makes the crowd erupt. A solid three punch combination from Cermeno. Then another one-two. Valdez lands but Cermeno hits him harder. Warning to both for the headbutts. One-two from Cermeno is muffled by a clinch. Two solid uppercuts from Valdez land. Cermeno's still hitting him way too much. Round ends with both swinging big as Cermeno got the best of those exchanges towards the end.

ROUND FIVE:
Back and forth action to start out with Cermeno taking advantage of the speed differential in his favor. Bigger shots landed by him. Working on the cut. Fans chant Mexico, but Valdez is not getting the work in. Cermeno is moving around and Valdez keeps coming in, getting countered. Ref seperates the two. Two rights thrown from Cermeno, only one landing. Fighting well off the ropes. A few solid shots for Valdez are countered by big rights from Cermeno. An uppercut for Valdez and a good left hand in the final seconds that slightly stuns Cermeno.

ROUND SIX:
Nice right hand lands for Cermeno and the left works for Valdez. Cermeno is getting into a brawl with Valdez. The ref checks the cut again on Valdez. jab getting pumped out by Cermeno. One-two comes up short for Cermeno. Valdez coming in with shots, but getting countered and thrown off balance. Solid two or three jabs by Cermeno. Ducking and dodging from Cermeno. 1-2 for Cermeno connects. Solid movement and Valdez stalks. Not landing much in terms of effectiveness. Cermeno moves and blocks. A nice combination from Cermeno. Shot to the body from Cermeno is slightly blocked. Nice right hand from Cermeno as the bell rings soon after.
