ALi The Greatest HW of ALL TIME you know why???

Because he fought all the other great Heavy Weights of his Time Norton, Foreman, Frazier, Holmes, Quarry, Patterson, Liston, Earnie Shavers, George Chuvalo, Oscar Natalio Bonavena, Archie Moore....Besides just having the names on his resume and we all know we can sit here and disect any resume of almost any boxer but more importantly he fought who was relevant in the division at the time when he was active. To me that is the most important fact about any Champion is that he fights who is relivant at that time. This is my knock on Floyd and why I belive in order to cement his legacy at WW he should fight Shane before he retires....Lefty

I wonder how NSB would **** on Ali's resume.....(e.g. Frazier was weight-drained, Quarry is overrated, Patterson was done after fighting _______, etc.).

Why does that name Shane keep coming up. Is boxing void of any great boxers for PBF to fight.?

Step up some weights i say. Left it too late to fight shane to get decent credit for it imo.
Fight Pac, shane if you say so, and some others i say.

He's just saying that Ali is considered the best HW, because he beat many great names and fought all the best fighters in his division. And Floyd Mayweather must do the same to be considered the best at his division.

On a side note, someone had a picture of a young Shane Mosley sitting next to Ali.

Nah the thread was actually a lead into Floyd and greatness. Claim to be the greatest of his era....Or the best fighter of the decade. Manny fought who was relivant in his division(s) when he was there....Ali was a prime example of greatness I knew no one would dispute Ali being the greatest HW of his era. That is why I used him. Shane was just an example because right now at WW besides Shane and PAC the only other relivant name out there is fighting Shane and the other relivant name is at 154lbs...Cotto was beaten so in a lot of peoples minds he aint relivant at 147 at least not right now....With that being said I have been trying to not knock Floyd on the forums but last night was too much for me to handle.....Floyd needs to put up to me fighting PAC is the first step but it is not the last and I agree with Burner last night he needs to fight another big name and a real WW in order to claim fame as a ATG...To me his career will be over shadowed by who he could have fought and why fights didn't happen not the fact he came out of retirement to beat Marquez and PAC but the fact he retired at a time when his division was popping (Cotto, Williams, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey, Berto,Quintana, Collazo) and he retired a second time without ever fighting any of those names....Lefty

You definitely used a thread about Ali to talk about Shane A long paragraph isn't going to make me think otherwise.

No not really REED but think wht you want. Honestly I am grooming my mind for a new favorite fighter...I am taking to Bradley after seeing him fight Holt, Campbell and Peterson I think he will be my new guy to back in 2010. I listened to the show from last night and some of the points said to defend Floyd aboutnot fighting any of those names I mentioned got me thinkiing. I been on you tube today watching some old Ali clips and I got to thinking. How can someone compare themselves to a man like Ali, Robinson etc.....When those guys took on all contenders....It is partially the fault of the sport itself because now it is more like a bunch of cowboys and belts don't mean anything it is all about money I mean it has always been about money. That is why they call it prize fighting right? . The sport has lost its integrity in the eyes of the public....We know this but every now and then you got to take a step back and see things for what they really are....To me he can not go down as the greatest of his era with out fighting the fighters who were relivant in his division at the time when he was fighting.....Lefty
