RJ believes Hopkins fight is still viable! "I'd rather lose fair than win cheating!"


GL: Can you give us some thoughts on the Danny Green fight and tell us what went wrong? "Nothing really went wrong. I peaked a little early on training camp number 1. But along with that, they allowed him to wrap his hands two hours earlier and they allowed him to use stuff that they not supposed to use. The gauze that you use isn't supposed to have no adhesive nothing on it, you know what I mean? They first try to give me a pair of used gloves, I said, 'how am I going to fight in used gloves?' Then they gave me new gloves and by then we saw how they was wrapping his hands and we were complaining because from what we're used to this is illegal. They said no, you're not fighting in used gloves now so we're going to let his hands stay wrapped just the way they are. Then he hits you with a shot behind the head with a cast on, I'm a fighter, pound for pound one of the best, but you can't hit me in the back of the head with a baseball bat and think it won't do something to me."

After I watched the fight live, I was 100% convinced that Danny Green had hit Roy Jones with an UNINTENTIONAL rabbit punch. I still believe that. With that said, Roy can only blame himself for not making more of a stink about it when it happened.

Instead of playing the diplomatic role, he should have kept it 100% (think nate campbell vs. tim bradley) and went off on the ref for allowing dude to hit him behind the damn head.

The fight was 14 days ago.

I don't know what to make of the story myself, but I found this a little odd.

GL: Is there a rematch clause?

Danny Green: "Yeah, there is, but it's not immediate."

GL: Any accusations that he's making about the wraps being illegal are completely false?

Danny Green: "No comment on that mate, now I'm off to do Bernard Hopkins business."

Exactly, if it isn't fair, don't go out to a fight, until they make it fair.

And he should have know better, fighting in Australia, or some other country... Be prepared for all sorts of BS.
