Welterweight Leonardo Zappavigna (22-0, 15 KO’s) won a one-sided six round unanimous decision over Sergio Macias. Zappavigna came out strong and landed wide, yet vicious hooks and crosses to the head. Macias (14-19, 6 KO’s) was stunned at times, but never went down. Sanchez claims to the be the nephew of the late Hall of Fame fighter.

Welterweight Freddy Hernandez (27-1, 18 KO’s) won a hard-fought eight round unanimous decision over brawler Octavio Narvaez. The shorter Narvaez pressed the action early against Hernandez, but was outgunned by the stronger Hernandez, who had Narvaez hurt in the final round. All three judges had Hernandez winning by scores of 78-74, 78-74, and 80-72.

With Freddie Roach in his corner, Heavyweight Lateef Kayode (9-0, 8 KO’s) stopped Billy Willis in the second round of a scheduled six round bout. Kayode dropped Willis (11-19-1, 9 KO’s) with a right hand in the first round and finished him off with a combination to the head in the second, prompting referee Dr. Lou Moret stopped the bout at 1:14.

I am so ready for Peterson/Bradley. The match up lends to a great fight.

I think to the unbiased observer that Peterson will clearly win the fight but the California judges and the pro-Bradley live audience will see it completely differently. Peterson uses ear muff defense and catches a lot of punches that could be scored as points to people who don't know any better.
