Just because Paul Williams had a tough fight with Martinez. Martinez if you pay attention to him is big for a 154 lber and he's strong and quick. He hits a lot harder than his knockout ratio indicates.

I think Hopkins would beat Paul Williams now even though I used to view that fight as close to a toss up. But Pavlik is a mediocre boxer, and he was totally wiped out by somebody who had some ring intelligence.

Pavlik is limited but the guy has had some impressive wins in the past.

I think Williams takes him but to try and say that Pavlik isn't a threat to him is absurd.

With all Pavliks faults aside, the fact is that Martinez was close to knocking Williams out several times, if he has the power to stun and hurt Williams, Pavlik most definitely does as well. The question is whether he can land enough flush shots.

Williams was eating right hooks like it was beef low mein, I could only imagine what Pavlik would follow up on if his hooks connected.

But Pavlik has more pop behind his shots as suppose to Martinez. Williams was getting buckled (and knocked down) by a seemingly smaller man who’s not known for high KO ratio contrast that with Pavlik.
