I dont know why Benn or Eubank never fought Toney but Benn wouldnt duck anybody.
You do know that when Benn was shot he faced 1-3 odds on betting favourite Gerald Mclellan who was going to destroy Benn.
Here in England our own paper the telegraph said that if G-man didnt win the title it would be sensational..thats how much of an under dog Benn was at the time because of Geralds KO streak and Benn being shot.
If he faced him when he was shot then believe me he would have faced Toney when he was round his prime if the chance arose.
The man went to the states to beat an American for his world title,he feared no one.
I confronted Roy Jones outside of a hot dog stand.
Name the "bum" Roy fought. It's really hilarious that you call Roy's opponents BUMS but want him to fight STEVE ****ING COLLINS. God you guys are daft.
As for the underdog Gerald story that's cute, but it was only sensational that the ref let a guy get knocked OUT of the ring for a long count and get back in to go on to win the fight. A tad fishy? Of course not! Rule Britannia!

"I came up the hard way, I fought the tough guys. Roy came up the easy way, off an Olympic gold medal and doing as he pleased. Mike McCallum and Sumbu Kalambay were the two best middleweight's in the world when I fought them, Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn were the two most successful super-middleweight's of all-time when I fought them. I came through. I was too physically strong for Roy Jones, I started a strength progamme after I beat Eubank at Millstreet and that just made me stronger, I was getting stronger and stronger with each fight. I was stronger than ever when I confronted Roy Jones after he fought that guy, Frazier or whatever his name was, the fireman I think it was. You think an ectomorph would of lasted 36 minutes with 13 stone coming at him non-stop? We all know he was running scared.
Do you think Roy Jones would of lasted the distance with a prime McCallum after just 16 fights, having taken the fight at only a few weeks notice? If you do, you need your head tested. I tried to box McCallum and came unstuck, I wouldn't box Roy Jones. I'm not saying I could of lived with Roy Jones in the talent department, but I would of won the fight on strength and workrate. Kalambay I lost a split decision, but in Italy you need to stop them to get a draw and I didn't have much punching strength back then".
Mock Collins all you want,He fought the best early.
And the bum was Richard Frazier

A shot Benn beat Mcclellan FACT!!!!.
Collins was not very good. Sorry. That little essay just sounds like yet another delusional contender thinking he's going to win because he's tough. Actually sounds a lot like the empty threats that guys like Paul Spadafora and other guys like that would throw at Floyd Mayweather coming up.
But at least he knows he couldn't last with him talent wise. LOL@his workrate plan. Yeah that had never been tried before.
Most of the responses in this thread are a failure becuase Benn has gone on record stating that he couldn't beat Jones.
Oh well.

I'm going to ignore the insanity and just add: with the help of the referee. There you go. All better now.

Who said he was good?
No matter what you think of him he would have gave Jones a harder fight than the brannons,Fraziers,Lucas',Sosas, lightweight Vinny Paz.
Do you not agree?

He also said Calzaghe would have beaten him lol its his opinion, damn Elvis Presley said Tom ****in jones had a better voice than him
No I do not agree. Collins was overrated. And that's putting it nicely since he was never really RATED by anyone with half a brain about boxing.
