Did Calzaghe fight last Sat night in the Super Six?

You'd fcuking think so because since Ward / Kessler the only boxer mentioned on this forum has been Calzaghe.

There is some serious obsession going down at the moment, you love him, you hate him, you're all MAD and obsessed by him !

    Give it up. PLEASE !

The fact that his biggest “win” was exposed by someone with like 20+ fights cannot just be ignored. IM SORRY THE GUY IS OVER RATED.

ok, I don't think you realize that this is a BOXING FORUM. so anything pertaining to boxing is discussed here. Calzaghe's biggest win(Kessler) just fought his first live opponent and got schooled, and badly. It would be crazy NOT to bring up calzaghe's name again.

Yeah, so's Evander Holyfield. I mean Kevin McBride beat Mike Tyson! That means Holyfield gets no credit what so ever for beating Tyson.

Joe two biggest wins against prime opponents are Kessler and Lacy. Lacy has been exposed and Kessler has been a bit exposed recently. Fact is those wins dont look nearly as good since Joe beat them...both by decision, I might add.

A fighter is always judged on how well the opposition was regarded at the time of the fight. Both Lacy and Kessler were undefeated fighters, who were considered dangerous for Calzaghe. In fact Calzaghe was an underdog in the Lacy fight. Irrespective of how those fighters are view now, in late 2009, the fact is when Calzaghe fought Lacy in 2006 and Kessler in 2007 they were both considered top Super Middleweights. Calzaghe could come back, he could beat Ward, Froch, Dawson or whoever, but then the haters would say "Well he should fight ". It has to end somewhere for Joe. He chose the right time to end it, nothing left to prove, great health and a tidy bak balance.

why? this topic makes sense right now. If Kessler won the super 6 tournament, the calzaghe fans would be flooding this forum with pro calzaghe threads. and I would be giving kessler and calzaghe props for the first time.

but as it were, kessler lost, and now some of the ppl are just bringing to light calzaghe's overratedness. thats all.

this topic will pass on in due time but not for now, as it shouldn't.

The point is those guys were just not as good as we all thought they were. If both guys went on to dominate other good fighters Calzaghe who’d have earned is respect but they didn’t, both turned out to be bums.
