Pacquiao is an Easy Fight For Mayweather, Says Ellerbe

A counter puncher works off his opponents offense. It's a tactical approach, a byproduct of a fighter's mindset, not a result of punches thrown during an exchange.

So JMM and Floyd are great counter punchers. Manny is not (although that aspect has improved ever since he started fighting bigger men).

As far as being an easy fight, Ellerbe is just hyping his fighter's skills. I'd love to see Manny put Floyd on his ass. But I don't see that happening. Floyd is the bigger, taller, faster, more skilled fighter and if he chooses to stick and jab all night, Manny will be schooled completely. Of course I didn't think Manny could drop Cotto either but I'm thinking Floyd is way more difficult to hit.

1) So if Floyd beats Manny on points, I won't be impressed. That's what I expect.

2) But if Floyd crushes Manny with a KO, that would get my respect.

3) And if Floyd beats PWilliams or Mosely, I'd rank him as #1 WW and P4P king.

Since scenario #1 is most likely to occur, Mayweather is right: aside from the big payday, he doesn't gain much else for this fight.

You ever stop and think that as a fighter he knew what was coming. I mean he did in fact pick Pac to beat Cotto.... People did in fact favor Pac to beat Cotto. If Mayweather fought Cotto then according to some he ducked Pac, Mosley, PWILL etc etc and no matter what order you put those names in he gets hated on. Mayweather specifically went after (a smaller) JMM who gave Pac a tough time. That fight should be a clear example of why Mayweather came out of retirement. Some just don't get it and continue to talk... You cant please everyone.

Mayweather and Pac will fight and when and if Mayweather wins. He didn't beat an ALL TIME GREAT that Pac is being referred too. It will result to Mayweather picking on the smaller man yet once again. The win will be downplayed and PWILL will be everyone's hopeful fighter to beat Mayweather and we repeat the process over and over until one day Mayweathr does lose..

Again, i never said Manny is a great counter puncher, i simply said that he's better at counter punching, not better than Floyd or anyone else, just better for him to implement that tactically against his opponensts instead of attacking. Everytime Manny attacks he leaves himself open, he has gotten better at it but he's still better when he counter punch. Manny doesn't usually initiate the attack, he waits for his opponent to attack and throw punches, and that's when he throws and attacks, hence he's a counter puncher.

It cracks me up that some people are still comparing the Manny that fought JMM and Morales eons ago at 130lbs and the current Manny at 145lbs. You people seriously don't think that those are the same fighters now do you? Just like JMM wasn't the same fighter when he fought Manny at 130 or 135lbs to the JMM that was at 144lbs that fought Floyd.
