    The Contender Episode 7

we all know the final match up but i just want to assess the most recent fight in the tournament... in this episode, juan was obviouly inexperienced... he had heart but didn't have much power... tarick on the other hand, did not show the experience... only in round 2, no more no less... your thoughts...

well tarick had not been boxing or in the gym for 2 years and Tarick wasn;t fighting the way he usually does, he went toe to toe, that aint his style

like I said in another thread juan de la rosa reminded me of richardo mayorga, I think he stunned and hurt Tarick a couple times. All he needs is alittle more control I just think he was nervous.

I wouldn't even call Juan a "boxer". He didn't exhibit a single boxing skill in that fight. He is a brawler plain and simple. The other cat hadn't been in the ring for 3 years or he would have scored an easy decision.

btw,I think it's complete overkill to make a new thread for every episode of the show. I'm going to comment on the previous episode because I don'y feel like searching for the "ep. 6" thread.

Ishi Smith is a ****ing hypocrite. He was whining about how he wasn't going to fight Ahmed because the others wanted him to. He literally said he had to fight who was right for him. Finally he did man up, because of all the verbal sparring between them, and he would have looked like a ***** if he didn't. I don't think Anthony should have lied about who he was going to pick, but then again this is a contest and the longer you stay the more cash you get, so I don't blame him for picking the weaker kid. Now Ishi needs to quit acting like a little ***** and grow up.

it does not hurt the forum if i do a thread for every episode... if i posted on the ep. 6 thread then nobody would react since it was a week ago... so a more recent title is better IMO...

That's fine man, I'm just saying there are a lot of contender threads already. I don't see why we can't just have one contender thread and just keep it current. But you're right it doesn't hurt anything to make a new thread each week. Just my preference i guess.

i thought both guys looked sloppy, but juan is young and tarrick was rusty.... i think everyone was expecting juan to be better than he was... i like the kid, but i dont see him making it past the next round...

I think Juan was too excited too and that Tarick was rusty and tired but very cagey and game.

Concerning Bonsante; there was no need to lie and manipulate the guys like that. NONE. He was basically trying to ratonaize his lack of character; his lapse in judgement. Point Blank. Evryone there agrees with and shares his feelings about providing for his fmily and being committed to winning this thing.

As far as the remarks about it not being fair with Bonsante and Cooper; that's bull****. Cooper, Bonsante and everyone there should be ready and willing to do whatever in the ring and though Anthony threw a curve Cooper should be the only one responsibe or concerned for his lack of preparation and subsequent beating in a fair fight.

Ishe's lack of thought and flawed reasoning is just as contemptible as Bonsante's. More even! He's like an empath; he just records feelings instead of forming thoughts based on facts and proceeding logically. Earlier he was distrustful and anxious leading him to act like a chicken and attempting to weasel out of his match with Ahmed. Now, he's sad that his bud got the **** beat out of him and angry at that liar, Bonsante and unlike the mexican guy who won the first fight, is unable to let it go.

Still, I hope Bonsante gets the hell beat out of him and Ishe doesn't smell the championship either. I like the mexican guy; the first winner best. I'd love to see him and De La Rosa or the tall thin mexican guy whose girlfriend is a lawyer in the finals.

Actully there are lots of cool guys I wouldn't mind seeing in the finals except Bonsante and Smith.
