He will do what he always does and talk down the guy in the opposite corner to cause drama that sells seats/PPV's. At the end of the day this fight WILL happen.......
He plays it very well, lets be honest he could have played the Oscar/Pac kind of character but being the fighter he is in the ring it would not have worked so well.

Bob is very greedy and will try to overprice against Mayweather because he knows that Floyd is a whole new level of fighter that Manny could never beat.

Manny is at the end of his big ride against Mayweather; and he is only popular for beating old past their prime fighters and weight-drained fighters.
If Manny's team was so confident in him then they should stop asking that fighters come in dehydrated and mummified!!!

Oscar wasn't himself. Cotto should have fought at the 147lb limit so his body was adjusted. Hatton was a human punching bag. Diaz was a novice. Marquez gave Pacquiao 2 fights worth of hell and he didn't come in with low confidence and weight-drained.

I am not trying to discredit Manny's victories, but I come from the old school of thought which is to implie that in order to truly be the best, you have to beat another man at his best; and not some agreed upon draining, catchweighting BS. I am not convinced about Manny but should he fight Floyd at 147lbs or Mosley at 147lbs and beat them, then I would be on his side. But for now Mayweather is still the man to beat!!!!
I love the fact that you critized Pacquiao for fight Dehydrated and past-prime fighters and say Marquez fought him well because he wasnt old and dehydrated. But yet forget to acknowledge the fact that the same Marquez you're talking about was also the same guy Mayweather made go up 14 lbs over his best weight class to fight at 144 and Mayweather still couldnt keep his side of the bargain.

Maybe he didn't expect "*******" to walk through one of the best WW's on the planet and laugh at his power punches though. Maybe Fraud thought he was dealing with the pre-140lb Pacquiao, the drained version who struggled with Marquez not so long ago at 130lbs, rather than a dramatically improved version who walks right through top Welters and shocks the world, blitzes the guys who Fraud ducked, and made them cower in corners of the ring.

I hope he underestimates Pacquiao, because if Manny is at his best, the victory will be so much sweeter when Fraud finally gets his over-inflated ego beaten out of him.

Mayweather said Pac would beat Cotto. So knowing Mayweather, he has already begun preparing for the fight. EVERYONE knows Mayweather is about the money. He (Mayweather) IS about this fight. The question is who will get the most money? That is the ONLY problem with the fight. Has nothing to do with neither guy not wanting to fight. It's the money. IMO 40-40 with the winner taking the remaining 20%. That will add to the drama that will already be involved in the fight.
Great post...the only thing I'd take issue with is the split which will NOT be negotiated in public. Mayweather is his own boss and Schaeffer and GB won't be getting the traditional promoter fee, not to mention the Asian PPV considerations that further fatten Manny's bank account. Truth is, we'll never know...Sh#t, I couldn't even tell you how much Floyd weighed the night of the Marquez fight. All of this financial speculation should be ignored by the real boxing community. There is a 22 minute interview with Floyd after the pac vs cotto fight. He did it with skynet of the BBC. He basically said that pac will be an easy win for him but he wont get credit for it. He seems to be hinting that he wants most of the money. Floyd contradicts himself on the interview.

Sorry, coudlnt post the link, i need 15 posts first LOL. But the interview is out there on the net it is over 20 minutes long.

But I think Arum was right about Mayweather not wanting to lose his Undefeated record. Thats his meal ticket. If he loses that, he will be exposed and he'll lose some of the reason why people watch him. People either wanna see if he can keep his undefeated record alive or they wanna see that one opponent who can finally put a dent on his record. As soon as he loses that 1st fight, he wont be as marketable because he does fight a boring fight. In Manny's case, win or lose, people will still watch him because they know he'll put on a show. So I think he's right about Mayweather wanting to keep that "0" on his lost record.
What boxer have you watched that wanted to lose?

Isn't the argument used that Mayweather will only duck opponents who may post a threat? I think we all know that Pacquiao poses nothing of the sort.

History has shown us that if anybody is going to duck anybody here, then it will be Pacquiao and his team ducking Mayweather.Pacquiao has a history of ducking top black fighters, and it will take alot for him to ever step in the same ring with the best black fighter if his generation.
