Floyd is a tea.totalist, so it's highly doubtful anyone who is not an alchohol drinker would be taking drugs. I also doubt Manny is, either. Therefore, neither have anything to worry about, so we got nothing to argue with each other about, right? Case closed.

Mayweather May Place Mandatory Independent Drug Test In the Pacquiao Contract

Originally posted by BoxCleva View PostAfter all the rumors about Pacquiao possibly using performance enhancing drugs, it looks possible that the Mayweathers may place certain stipulations in the fight contract which would oblige both fighters to undergo mandatory independent drug tests. This would be separate to the mandatory drug tests conducted by most boxing commissions. However, drug tests aren't always accurate and it is still possible to avoid detection even when being tested.
A number of people have now alluded to the possibility that Pacquiao could be taking illegal substances, among them such prolific names as Andre Berto, Paulie Malignaggi, Floyd Mayweather Jnr, and of course Mayweather Snr, the man who publicly made the original allegation. There's no source to confirm this contractual stipulation yet as far as I know, I just believe it's a probable clause given the circumstances. They'll probably want to test independently, outside the constraints of the commission.

Exactly! some people are just dumb.

I said this before: Boxing doesn't have a good drug testing program so in order for boxers to feel like they aren't being cheated by an opposing fighter, they need to put mandatory, random drug testing into the contract as soon as it is signed. There should be no limit on how much they can test you (except for blood...urine and hair is OK).
But what they need to do in the end is to make it mandatory so they can do year round testing of at least all the top fighters.
However, not even sure it matters when in today's chemist world you can get undetectable high performance steroids and come out clean. Plus, I still don't think they have a test in place to accurately test for HGH/Insulin use.
So...good luck on trying to catch everyone.
The only positive of this whole mess is that there may finally be a drug testing system put in place...and hopefully something on the level of Pro Tennis.
Other than that, throwing names out there that could be innocent is ****ed up. Just imagine if you are the one being accused and you didn't do anything wrong. Once it is thrown out there...innocent or not...people start to question from then on.
Someone could have just said, hey, there is no real drug testing system put in place...let's get one that is actually on the level of Pro Tennis.
On that note:
If I was drug tested year round...I would get everything I take tested and I would probably become paranoid that someone might put something in my food. Now that is stressful.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 11-19-2009, 12:57 AM.
