If you guys were in the same situation you probably would have done a similar thing. Fighting is about making the most that you can, meaning the money, and then getting out before becoming permanently damaged. To you guys it may have seemed the "*****" thing to do, but it was a business decision on his part. He has his family to look out for as well as himself. Him being around on the show longer will equal more money to take home to his family. If it comes up again that he must fight that guy he shyed away from, I wholehearted believe that he will fight him with what ever he has to offer. If he does lose that fight than he will go home with more money in his pocket than if he had fought him at the first oppertunity. Thats what its about, money. Plain and simple.

This situation was different than the Ishe situation in that Ishe was calling this other guy out and then balked at the oppertunity to fight him. To me he was just talking **** and nobody forced him to do it. With the other guy it was a matter of them telling him who he had to fight. After it was decided, not by him remember, he began trying to convince himself that it was a wise choice for him, by talking to the other members of the crew. He changed his mind, or actually better said, made up his mind for the first time and chose to fight somebody else. It was business.......... Rockin'

That's not why anyone is pissed at him, Rockin. The reason everyone is pissed is because he's a two faced little *****. He should have said straight up, "I'm not gonna fight that guy, I have no chance against him. I want so and so." Everything would be good right now if he hadn't pulled the **** he pulled. He's gonna get his ass kicked the next fight he's in.

        The Contender Episode 6

I think bonsante had to do what he had to do and felt like he should fight someone he thought he could beat and he did, I just wish he wouldn't have agreed to fight the other guy first. I don't like snakes and that was some snake ****, he acted like he was part of the team and the west won like a team so he could fight the agreed upon guy, he should have said he was in this a lone and wanted to figth who he wanted to fight instead of agreeing to the ****, if the west knew he was going to do something liek that they could have let the east win and then bonsante woudl have surely fought who he was suppossed to...Well he's on to the next round and he won't be able to hide then, he just better hope he gets someone he can just **** on like that in the next round...

The east are realy hopeless. The only competetion they won so far was thrown by Alfonson & Ishe for some reason. Only fight they won so far was from a man who got 2nd chance. Is there really a difference between East & West training methods or pure coincidence? lol.

BTW do these guys come from US only or all over the world? They would have found bigger talent if they search outside US. Although language barrier would be tough. Another thing, how does staying on show = more money? You only get money if you win 1mil. Unless you mean advertisement or there's secret paycheck for staying longer.

I have watched him alot. The guy is kind of right. He is doing what he feels is right for his family. Why make things difficult if you can make them easy. I mean sure he's on a team but in the end it will just be one guy and I would try to make sure I made it as far as possible and if they have a problem then tell them to pick me.

One thing that made me real made was Ishe getting upset after he also did a ***** move.

The bottom line is this. If he wouldve picked Lange and lost, then he wouldve been at home thinking about how he let other guys pick a tough opponent for him. There is too much money at stake and Im going to choose my own path if I have the chance. **** them
One word; character. He is of course free to do what he pleases but he lied to the guys as far as saying he'd go along with the match-ups; lied when he encouraged em to go all out so he could call out his opponent(just the principle) and though I understand it he ****ing rushed to beat up a guy who is obviously a goldfish(he's lost and tied that sorry ass professional also ran, Reggie Strickland).

His own kids will be ashamed of him once they're old enough to understand what he's done. He just tried to rationalize his cowardice and insecurity.

I'm worried about some of you who don't think he did anything wrong. I hope he gets the living **** beat outta him later by ...

            ANYONE! **** that guy.

he did what he felt was right for him and his family, he was just gay for saying **** like "lets win this challenge so i can call him out" even though he knew he had no intention of doing so, that was what i think makes him a *****. He should have told them your not picking who i fight and thats it.

wow juan de la rose fights exactly like richardo mayorga, I even thought at one point I was looking at a young mayorga. I thought at the end of the episode they were being too hard on him I mean he stunned the guy a couple of times in the fight.

Every fighter there knows what it means when one of the guys that has been boxing at 160 their whole career calls out one of the guys moving up from 147 or 154. Call it what you want...it boils down to the fact that no matter how you talk yourself up, no matter how badass you try to make yourself look...the message that was sent is: "The best thing for my career is to call out their smallest, weakest guy...and to lie to my team about it right up till I do so." No class.
