    Insider Notebook: Haye-Klitschko; Berto-Mosley; Pacquiao

By Robert Morales - David Haye sustained at least a severely sprained right hand, as well as a cut, while taking Nikolai Valuev's heavyweight world title last Saturday in Germany. But his health permitting, Haye will next make a mandatory defense against John Ruiz. The plan then would be to unify the title with one of the Klitschkos - Vitali or Wladimir - before fighting a rematch with Valuev.

That was Wednesday's word from Richard Schaefer, the Golden Boy Promotions CEO who just returned from Germany after watching Haye, of England, win a majority decision over the 7-foot Russian behemoth. Haye is co-promoted by Golden Boy and Hayemaker Promotions.

Sauerland Event, which co-promotes Valuev along with Don King, will play a role in those aforementioned bouts as Schaefer confirmed the company does have options on Haye's next three fights because Valuev's defense against Haye was voluntary and not mandatory.

"The fact is they are going to be involved in David Haye's next three fights," said Schaefer to krikya360.com. He wasn't certain if King would be included, but that if he is, "it would be on the side of the Sauerland equation."

There was a rematch clause for Valuev in the contract for Saturday's fight with Haye, but Schaefer said it did not stipulate the rematch had to be immediate. Thus the plan for Haye to first fight Ruiz and then one of the Klitschkos. [details]

I like pacman but freddie makes him sound like the recarnation of pernell whitaker. He's still open when he becomes aggressive. i hope Cotto has recovered from Margarito. Cotto must maintain constant pressure on Pacman to get the victory.

      Interesting...

There was a rematch clause in David Haye's contract with King and Valuev. So Haye will need to fight Valuev again, though not immediately.

And according to Schaefer, Don King has options on Haye's next three fights!

This will tie Haye up for a couple of years until the Klitschkos get old.

Why does Don King always have options on fighters when or if his fighter lose? Why do people still do business with this man?

So it was as I thought - Haye is now in the hands of Don King for his next three fights.

He should have fought a Klitschko, even though he would have lost.

Or he should have done what he said he would do, and fought 2 top ten heavyweights first and won an eliminator, and so earned his title shot. Then he wouldn't have options/rematches in the contract.

Well probably to get a title shot (In Haye's case), King most likely knew Valeuv would lose at that Haye is marketable. So in order to get the fight Haye had to bow to some of his demands

Vitali is old already, but it doesn`t matter much

I think Wlad will be good at the age of 36 as well.

                    We`ll see.

P.S. Mosley is likely to stop Berto.
P.S. Pac/Cotto isn`t likely to go the distance.
