Why are some people so concerned with ticket sales, who's the biggest draw, etc?

Who honestly gives a **** except for maybe one or two Mayweather fans who get offended at the thought of someone possibly selling more tickets than him? Since when has ticket sales meant anything? As a FIGHT fan, it doesn't make me respect those who are selling the most tickets or PPV buys, just like I'm unlikely to be impressed by Britney Spears selling more tickets than a talented but completely unknown band. It happens all the time in music -- ****ty "artists" selling billions of tickets while the ones who actually deserve great success are ignored.

Is it just me who doesn't actually give a **** if Firepower sells more or less than Mayweather's last fight? Jesus. Some of you are way too concerned with the most pathetic **** and we don't need this "my fighter is better than your fighter cause he sold this amount!" garbage. Get lost.

Co-Sign this post. Talking numbers is just a Floyd nuthugger technique to distract from actually talking about who's fighting who, and to justify him not fighting Welterweights.

And sadly, it always seems to work.

Floyd fans shouldn't use the fact that Mayweather sells more PPVs than Pacquiao as evidence of being greater. What they should use is the fact that Floyd is actually the better fighter, boxing wise.

Same here. The guy put me on ignore a long time ago. I just made a thread on the dome that if we all put Haymon on ignore he would just be talking to his Kool Aid drinking masses and eventually get bored. It's all bait, this guy. Or maybe he really has no life.

                I think you're right.

But seeing threads like "Pacquiao- Cotto Tickets Still Available - TONS of 'em" makes me feel I've been supporting the wrong fighter all along! Dammit, I should have been a Mayweather fan since the start.

                Damn.

                  It's not a fact, it's an opinion.

Yeah, I was put on ignore too, so yes, I agree we should treat him the same as he treats others here.

This whole thing came up when a fighters Marketability or Selling Power began being used as SUPPOSEDLY legitimate reasons to NOT fight certain fighters.

Here is an example: Fighter A isn't going to fight Elite Fighter B because he doesn't bring enough money to the table. So he is going to fight Mediocre Fighter C.
