The catch weight Champion and his run at 7...what a ridiculous belt.

BTW, Pacman fought De La Hoya at 147lbs...so whats the deal? The jig is up.

Any link to a source that confirms your assertion that " He was 4 or 5 pounds over the limit, I think the fight was at 105 and Manny tipped the scales at 110"
As I said boxrec did not state torrecampo's weight.

Pac weighed in at 113 in his previous fight before he faced Torrecampo. In succeeding fights after this 1st loss, he never weighed in below 112. Which means he was probably already campaigning at 112. Which would also mean that he actually weighed in 2 pounds below the limit.

Why do people still go about whining on the weight?

first,If i do remember correctly Pac weighed in at 142 for a 147 fight with ODLH.
It means Pac can't fill up near the WW limit, hence the catch weight now.

second, ODLH was in the 154 division, that's why him and pac fought at 147, no less. Cotto is smaller than ODLH since he fights at the 147 division, hence the 145 catch weight.

Now if Cotto was a 154 division fighter he would have been given the same considerations ODLH was given, that is, 147 and no less. but since he isn't then 145 is fair.

Now with that being said, i don't like it that the belt is on the line even on a catch weight. but you know what, Cotto feels its fine so quit crying.

If you can make 147lbs you fight at 147lbs. Whats this nonsense of not fighting fighters at their best? Manny wants to claim welterweight superamcy, but he wont fight guys at their best. Is he a welterweight or is he not?

BTW, the WBO forced Cotto to put his belt on the line. Cotto didn't want to do it. They want to cater to the Pacman hype machine...it makes money right?

Well I thought everyone knew he was overweight for the Torrecampo fight, why do you think nobody in this thread denied it? If I was saying something false the pac fans would have jumped all over it.

That's some great insight to all this, once you get some hair on your balls come back with a better response.

Manny and PBF are only alike in that they have each other or Shane to face next year should Manny win in November. No other similarities to their situations. For all that PBF has in pure boxing brilliance, he now lacks in will. Manny is an exact opposite.
