I think its every boxer's right to claim whatever they want when it comes to if they the best and all that. Just like Lil Wayne says hes the "Best rapper alive", I mean who takes that seriously besides Lil Wayne and his biggest fans? Anything to get the mentality and confidence up for fights. FIghting is rough..you gotta have your belief game on point or its over in a blink of an eye.

Ok, we will shelf Pwill. I think Floyd fumbled a bit on the whole SSM issue. He could have said, well I'm not going to fight him now..but maybe LATER. But, the fact is he is waiting for the Pac/Cotto situation to play out, then he gonna make his move. Which I'm almost positive will involve one of those two. SSM is on the back burner for now.

Floyd has remained consistent to me. He is consistently Floyd. Cares more about money than legacy, true, but still happens to fight some good fights along the way.

Floyd isn't a 40 year old fighter who's seen his best days behind him. He's at his pinnacle and THIS is when he's supposed to make his mark on the sport against the very best. Sugar Ray Leonard's win over Benitez put him over the top capturing the WW belt. But what MADE Sugar Ray was the fights he had after with Duran, Hearns, and Hagler..DEFINING FIGHTS. Floyd hasn't had that type of fight at this point of his career which is when it counts the most. Nobody in Boxing can deny that and a lot of the skeptics make mention of it with a slight tongue in cheek about Floyd taking on "certain" fights and not the real challenges. There's no reason why a Shane Mosley vs Floyd Mayweather fight shouldn't happen right now.

Ironically, I've probably been a fan of Floyd's longer than most on here were even watching Boxing to begin with, but I also don't feed into his bull**** which a lot of his fans I've noticed do by repeating every little thing he says which more times than none has no real relevance (as this audio also proved).

Same reason why thousands of nerds behind their computers have the right to do so.. Every athlete gets criticized.. no matter how good they are.. But Floyd brings it on himself always claiming himself as the greatest, well you need to prove it! action speaks louder then words and all Floyd seems to do as of late is talk about how great he is rather then actually show us..

Mayweather always seems to contradict himself.. in one sentence he will say "im my own boss" and in another "It's not up to me to decide who I fight" he has done this countless of times in interviews..

Im a fan of Floyd as a fighter but not Floyd as a person.. hes unwillingness to fight the guys who matter in hes division and who the fans want him to fight Mayweather doesn't care about the fans so why should we care about him .. he's no longer relevant to me and i will just keep watching the guys who want to prove themself as the best and who aren't afraid of fighting the best out there like Pacquiao.
