Sorry for having an opinion. I never said Margarito was innocent or guilty. Yes he was caught trying to cheat against Mosley. (WHO BY THE WAY CHEATED HIMSELF) However the man is paying his dues. He's been out of boxing for almost a year. He's probably lost most of his fan base and the respect of many fans in boxing. But I think he deserves a second chance ( Michael Vick, Alex Rodriguez- Just Examples ) And to shoot back at your comment. I am not a cheater. And I don't defend cheaters regardless if they are brown, white, black, orange red. I truly believe everyone deserves a second chance.

By Robert Morales - Since Antonio Margarito was busted with illegal hand wraps before his January fight with "Sugar" Shane Mosley in Los Angeles, there has been no shortage of insinuation that perhaps Margarito and his hand-wrapping trainer, Javier Capetillo, had previously cheated.

Miguel Cotto initially said he thought Margarito must have just had a good night when Margarito stopped him in the 11th round on July 26, 2008 in Las Vegas. He since has wondered if Margarito might have had loaded gloves in their fight because he did not have anyone from his camp monitoring Margarito's wraps as they were being applied that night at MGM Grand.

Well, there is a dispute in that regard. Keith Kizer, executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, said that to his knowledge Evangelista Cotto was indeed in the room when Margarito was having his hands wrapped. Cotto - who will take on Manny Pacquiao on Nov. 14 at MGM Grand - was then trained by his uncle, Evangelista.

"The inspector is there watching the hands get wrapped, and there is also a member of the other team," Kizer said, explaining what typically happens during this time. "Evangelista Cotto was there. And he is not a guy who is very passive. He is a guy who will say, 'What's that?' Very similar to Brother Naazim (Richardson, Mosley's trainer who helped nail Margarito). [details]

What really bothers me is that the 2 commission guys say the exact same things as if they have a scripted story. But of course it can be the way their words are presented? Still it's very good stuff.

Commissions ****ing up. Trainers ****ing up. Promoters acting shady. No wonder boxing is in the dumps.

But, really, there's always been a dark side to boxing. You can go back decades and find shady **** happening.

One of the most common human defects is complacency. It happens everywhere, everyday.

People get so used to repetitiveness, that they stop paying attention and just assume. I see it at my workplace every day. After time people just start going through the motions.

That defect is what almost enabled Margarito to cheat against Mosley, and very well could have altered the Cotto fight.

It would also be normal for the Nevada commission to cover their a$$e$. In fact it is to be expected. They see hands being wrapped multiple times every week, every month, every year without incident. Suddenly they stop watching and just assume. That behavior is what opened the door for Margarito and his trainer to attempt something bad in California.

That does not change the fact that every minute of every day, some bozo is not doing their job. People or Property can get damaged or destroyed as a result.

Complacency helped 9/11 happen. It helped those Pilots last week play on their laptops too long. It causes a customer to get the wrong order at Mcdonalds, BK or Wendy's. Fighters lose their 0's. Trainers show up late. You can go on forever.
