this is poor by the way.

Yes there are some in the UK that hate him, either on ground of race or religion, even boxing ability but to say he was drive out by racists is pathetic.

Yes, the region/area where Khan grew up has had a lot of Nationalist success in local government, the political leader of the Far Right Party is have meant to have been quoted that "Khan would not be recognized as a British fighter", however I digress, Khan moved to America months ago. He moved full time in his build up the Kotelnik fight.

Gloomy weather, scathing media, racism, sky-high taxes, and the generally cynical nature of Brits would make me want to leave the country as well if I were in Khan's position.

I love L.A., I really do. But to be honest, racism is alive and well in The City of Angels. If you're poor, you really feel it. But what Khan has going for him is that Los Angeles totally caters to celebrities and rich people, so he should be fine there.

And like others have said, taxes in America ain't no joke. The gov't will get in that ass to get their money.

Froch has earnt the right to speak **** about Khan. When Kahn comes back alive from fighting the kind of competition Froch has beaten then he can chat all the **** he wants... until then: STFU.

I'm not completely certain on the income tax rates in America but I know it's lower than Canadian and European rates.

When Froch started acting like he deserved the win from last week, he lost all credibility in my eyes.

So Amir Khan is leaving the uk because in part of Carl Froch?

Well, if the move to the US has been made to benefit his career, then I wish him all the best. There would be many positives in a move to the US, he'll be nearer Freddie Roach for a start and probably most important he doesn't have anywhere near the kind of fame that he has over here.

He has fans and detractors alike in the UK, perhaps he is craving a more neutral atmosphere. I do agree with Jake though, whilst day to day he may find things easier going, the build up to fights etc will likely be harder going on him.

I would only be disappointed if this move was made solely for tax purposes. The only civic duty people have these days is paying taxes to their home country (unless they are in the armed forces). It would be a bitter pill for people to swallow, to see him carry the Union Jack into the ring, whilst ducking his social responsibility to the country which raised him and nurtured his talent.

That said, whilst he moves into the 50% tax bracket over here, what would be the equivalent tax in the US? Is it really that much of a difference?

                  Oli
