Basically what you are seeing here is exactly what thread stealer talked about the other day. How most people right now are on here not so much because they are fans of boxing, but mostly to sukk another fighters ****. All of the sudden fernando vargas is relevant because he gave his opinion on pac/cotto, and what you are going to see is an echo chamber of talking points from the past that have been discussed here previously. Like the Vargas/Wright fight, in which winky didint push hard enough in the championship rounds and made it closer than it should have been. Ill be damned if Vargas, whos career was basically ruined by trinidad, would be Cotto to do ANYTHING successful.

This place, as fight time gets closer, becomes similar to an enviorment similar to politics, where talking points are handed out and the partisan threads get made, and individuals, writers, pundits who support their side are suddenly praised, and those differing in opinion are villified. When this fight is over, one side will shut up for awhile, while the other celebrates and well rinse and repeat. What makes it noticable is the fact that every ****ing thread is in relation to either pac/cotto/mayweather.

Find me one forum of any sport that doesn't do this and I'll give you points.

I hear a lot of people complain about people nuthugging fighters, but that doesn't mean they're not a boxing fan. That's equivalent to saying, just because someone lives in Boston and is a rabid Red Sox fan they're not a baseball fan. Plenty of cynical people think you have to have decades of "insert sport here" knowledge memorized in order to be considered a "fan". I think if you like a sport enough to spend your own money on it, then that really is enough to call yourself a fan.

The thing about boxing is that people find fighters they enjoy watching and fighters they don't enjoy watching. It's common sense that they'll only pay for fighters and fights they'll enjoy. It doesn't mean they're not fans of boxing. Some people do take their favoritism of a certain fighter to the extreme, still it doesn't mean they're not boxing fans. I think it's just that hardcore boxing fans, in order to set themselves apart from the rest have narrowed down what a boxing fan is to the point that anyone who seems to favor a particular fighter much more than the other is not a boxing fan and only real boxing fans must like every style and every fighter regardless of how entertaining it is.

i repeat. cotto is a legit,active,powerful ww.there won't be a weight problem(DE LA HOYA) and he can box. not(RICKY HATTON).that said then pac has never been in a actual fight with this kind of fighter.this is not jmm.when he feels cottos power he will run,period.
