Sleeper threat? Lmao 147 is trash but he woulda made for an exciting fight against ennis had he taken it.

How exactly is one d level fighter gonna bring back a glamor division thats been trash for a while?

Well, no shit Paulie. We all know that it’s Brian Norman Jr who dodged Ennis and turned down a $1.7 million offer. Why try to spin it any other way?
So why don’t you chirp on Boots for avoiding Spence and Crawford
      Then his avoidance of Virgil
      Why not keep a 100 % for all ???
Boots is the one known for calling out fighters and then avoiding them like the plague
As a man how can you support that and let’s not forget , Norman Jr only asked for $500 000 more which is peanuts in today’s extravagant paycheques to fight the so-called best

Norman Jr got offered $1.7 million to fight Boots which is more than fair and would be his career high.

He instead chose to fight Cuevas for $150k.

Let that sink in: how afraid of a man must you be to take so much less money to fight someone else? It’s mind boggling. But the Top Rank Protection Program got what it wanted and avoided an almost sure loss.

Why and what exactly did Boots bring to the division besides calling out fighters only to blatantly avoid them
Spence , Crawford and then wiggled his way out of the Ortiz fight because he was gonna unify 147
            None of the above happened
Boots sells. I actually went to his unification fight in Atlantic City. He had people from New Jersey and Pennsylvania there. I drove almost 3 hours to watch that fight. Eddie doesn't know to market boots. He could be on Davis level of popularity for the urban community. Plus he actually comes to fight and looks for a knockout with skills. Nobody else in the welterweight division sells or can be a ppv star. Thats why they had to dig up Manny. Who else could sell fights at 147lb? Norman is not popular, Haney fell off. There's nobody. I know boots was ducking fighters at 154. I dont blame his team for trying to avoid more difficult fights just like Davis and Many others but for marketing and putting butts in seats it was boots at 147lb.

I think all this talk about ducking and dodging isn't particularly interesting or insightful, because it's all based on speculation.

What we do have is lots of information about these boxers: who they face and who they are not facing. And it's clear that many of them are going for easy wins and not challenging themselves against the best possible opponents. We have someone like Gervonta Davis being exemplary in this regard, and then you have other boxers following that footprint, seeing how much money Davis still makes (yeah, Roach beat him, but basically no one gave a chance to him winning). The reasons for that are many and complicated. I prefer to think of it all as a symptom of a sport that's slowly becoming something else, something darker, something more boring too.

Imagine he sells fighting subpar competition
Still the king of call-outs only to then avoid them
Hard to market a guy like that
Look no further than Shakur , he also was a draw in NYC and Jersey only to have fans walking out half way and having to suck off Turki to get fight and $$$$$

That addresses none of what I said.

But I understand, you have nothing else to say. Being offered $1.7 million and instead fighting for $150k is indefensible.
