Look at that list. Look at the KO records, the losses and avenged losses, the wars those guys went through.

I can appreciate Floyd and Pernell Whitaker and other great defensive fighters. One of my favorites was RJJ, who not only had an all timer defense, but was one of the greatest offensive fighters as well.

Olympic boxing is based heavily on clean punches landed, ie a points system. Pro boxing is based on effective aggression, pressing the fight and action, controlling the ring and who lands the hardest punches. Pro boxing lives and thrives on the KO and guys with big power who go to war.

If the sports becomes guys looking to always oupoint, to never get hurt and to take very little risk, the sport dies. We already see a degree of it. I am not a fighter and therefore no, I wouldn't go in to get hurt. But the guys that do and succeed can make alot of money. That is the price. Floyd began the decline of the sport with the "one loss mean so you suck".
