Comments Thread For: Tim Tszyu, Devin Haney and Anthony Joshua lead the way among those who won't be sorry to see the end of 2024
It hasn't been sweetness and light for everyone in the last 12 months. The BoxingScene writers name some of those within boxing who will be glad to see the back of 2024

Tszyu needs to check his pride and check his current corner the **** out, think about his options carefully, because that boy lost a LOT in 2024. It is simply way too risky not to take some time in his case.
Actually Ryan Garcia is the one who should be the happiest to see 2024 end. He’s spent this year solidifying his reputation as an unbalanced, erratic and self-destructive public figure and ruined the only real highlight of his year - the Haney fight - by getting popped for PEDs, having the win over Haney erased, earning a one-year suspension and resorting to scrounging around for a gimmick exhibition “fight” in Japan to earn some money (and even that has come to nothing). Garcia should be an obvious choice, and the fact that not one Boxing Scene contributor named him - and in fact named Haney instead - just shows how many enablers Garcia still has among the boxing media and general boxing fanboy community.

I’m sure the 20 million ( minimum ) he made is actually keeping him in his safe place

Ok, so subtract the legal fees he’s had to pay for everything from trashing a hotel room to getting sued by Haney. Subtract the money he’s surely paying for walking away from his partner like the day after she gave birth to their child. Subtract all the money he’s (allegedly) wasting on other stuff connected to a (supposed) party lifestyle. There’s a reason he’s been trying to fight a guy in Japan, and it’s not because he’s trying to “stay sharp.”

I’m sure he’s still sitting pretty
Not condoning what he’s done but it is what it is
How much do you actually think he would be getting for that exhibition ???
That is not going to save his day

I respectfully take your point and we can agree to disagree on some of this as two hardcore boxing fans. But I still say that any boxing writer who would suggest Devin Haney had a worse year than Ryan Garcia is ill-informed, if not just plain dumb.

Respect for being a mature human lol
I just don’t see it that way and in my defence , I’d say I’m not that dumb lol
