His Excellency Turki Alalshikh Is One Of The Best Things To Happen To Boxing

Countless of these great fights we are witnessing would’ve never happened, or if some did happen they probably would’ve happened in completely different points of each boxers career.

He is single handily making boxing great again. In my opinion there would’ve been a very diminished chance Fury would’ve fought Usyk over say Joshua or someone else where he could’ve made just as big money for way less risk, but when you have 100 million staring at you it’s very hard to turn down whatever fight Turki wants to see.

Even now, Parker and Dubois and Zhang and Kabay, these are excellent fights. There are positives to immense Saudi money after all.

I think we all know this but there'll always be some haters.

Look at that Feb 22nd, it is stacked every one of them fights if they were in UK/US they would be their own main event (not saying they would all be ppv but would main event their own card)

Facts. I’m a fan, the prestige boxing has lost is disturbing. I’ve been watching fighters like Eusebio Pedroza, Juan Laporte, and Dwight Qawi and fighters like them no longer exist. It’s a shame such a great sport.

hopefully 2025 does great things, and Turkish is definitely key.

The only ones that hate him are the dumb racists idiots that are pbc fangirls.

Bu but america. Yall communists doe

It was so funny when pbc first started and they were happy for a boxing monopoly but now that someone else is doing it they want the dying pbc to work with TR and GB lmao

I understand the Saudi promoter is making big fights happen, fights that are otherwise would not have happened in your lifetime.

But what are you thanking him for exactly?

Either his fights are pirated freely, thus can be watched without spending a dime,

          or

They're cheaper than the PPV fights in the US.

          What's the answer?

              100%

There will always be bums who like to complain and moan about everything.

He’s giving us fantastic fights and good (often great) undercard’s. Production and promotion are on point too,

For a boxing fan based in the UK, it’s also great not to have to say up until the wee hours.

Turki is the best thing that’s happened to boxing for a long time

I’m torn about it. It’s good short term but I fear it’ll be bad long term. We’re getting the best fighting the best more regularly which is great but it’s also creating a false market nobody else will be able to match in the future. So when the Saudi’s inevitably move on from boxing I think it’s going to be increasingly difficult to make big fights as fighters will want numbers that simply don’t add up if you actually want to make money and aren’t just sports washing. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Also as a fan that likes to attend the big fights, the lack of atmosphere is a big drawback too. I have no real intention to ever visit Saudi Arabia so when I fight goes there instead of say Vegas, it can be annoying as a fan, but if it’s a case of the fight happening in Saudi or not happening at all, I’m obviously all for it. Like Beterbiev-Bivol for example, no chance that would’ve happened without Saudi involvement so kudos for getting fights like that over the line.

If they can make some good fights there while the boxing people in the US get their stuff together that's fine. Eventually I would like to see them continue to make shows in the US.

He does some little stuff that I like as a fan, maybe meaningless but I've liked it:

Rocky 4 soundtrack songs that have been playing after the big fights end. "WAR" at the end of Beterbiev-Bivol made it feel like that battle is really just getting started, it was still very tense after the fight. Hearts on Fire last night.

Also, The Ring logo on the top rope last night was a nice touch.
