Jermain Taylor-Arthur Abraham: Pre-Fight Report Card

By Cliff Rold - Arthur Abraham enters this weekend’s opening round of “Super Six” competition as a favorite to win not only the fight at hand but the whole tournament. Jermain Taylor is seeking to prove he belongs in the tournament at all beyond the value of name branding. [details]

Good analysis as usual Cliff, but I thought most people favor Kessler overall.

Kessler is the over all favorite IMO and I think AA is being over estimated. I think as bad as Taylor has looked in the later rounds he'll still pull off a close decision.

I also think Froch gets his socks boxed off and will look very bad..... possibly embarrassed by a green fighter.

agree with you on the comments you made about kess and froch. kess is without doubt the best fighter in this game. froch is an exposure waiting to happen, the minute a fighter with a good jab and the ability to go 12 rounds comes along carl will taste his first L.

disagree about AA though, i think he is a very good fighter, gutsy, strong, heavy handed, and tough as they come. as well as this he is smart, patient and capable of executing a gameplan. he knows with his reach, and slow, loopy punches he would be wasting energy by going head hunting. so he targets the body early on and goes upstairs late in the fight.

imo its between him and kess - overall i think kess takes it.

Yes, that's why it reads "a" favorite rather than "the". Oddsmakers have them about even.

Taylor on points is 9/2 at Ladbrokes.

£10 returns £55. I'm tempted, but the fight is in Germany, and Abraham will probably get the decision if it's a close fight.

It should read defeated or drawn...forgot to double check the shell...to be fixed.

I understand Taylor faded against Froch down the stretch and got knocked, but why is every prediction of this fight have him being knocked out between the 6th and the 8th? If he doesn't fade I see Taylor getting robbed on the cards, or these two possibly fighting to a draw.
