Lomachenko would be crucified for facing Inoue despite the fact that, as Roy suggests, they are closer in natural size than Loma is to most of the guys he’s faced since 2018. Wasn’t Inoue rehydrating to 131lbs as a bantam? Lomachenko was reportedly only 138.5 lbs in the ring when he first won the lightweight title. What a fighter officially weighs in at is far less relevant than what he actually weighs in the ring. Most people seem to conveniently ignore that fact when they propose their own ‘pound for pound’ lists.

I remember at one point people were calling and it also did seem like Loma was a bit of a weight bully at 126lbs...

Loma basically doing what Floyd did in his later years at 147lbs. I don't buy into this notion that Loma is so much smaller because for years I questioned why he didn't bulk up a bit and let his body settle in more at 135lbs. Loma looks like he eats a very light and from what Ive seen does no weight training..

Lomachenko was outweighed by 11lbs in the ring against Salido for the ‘featherweight’ title. That and the constant barrage of permitted low blows prevented him making boxing history.

He reportedly weighed the same in the ring as Gary Russell in his next fight, 137lbs if I recall. Not really a true featherweight by traditional same-day weigh in rules but standard modern day rehydration bulk. Crucially, Lomachenko pretty much maintained this rehydrated weight all through his prime years, while officially rising in weight from 126 to 135lb. And he was never particularly interested in physically bullying anyone, favouring highly technical beat downs predicated on timing and finesse. Even against the naturally smaller Rigondeaux.

It's quite obvious that Roy has more than a few cobwebs on the brain. Lomachenko is old and likely will never fight again.
