Comments Thread For: With 'Latino Night' heading to Saudi Arabia what's left for the US fight fan?
Boxing has found openings in this post-World Series, football-season window to still stage some landmark U.S.-based fights in recent years.

I have been asking this question for over a year now and have never received an answer. What big fights has Turki-boy blessed us (Americans) with? What are these so called classics that he has paid for that the American promoters couldn't? The Bud vs Madrimov show in LA that lost 10 milly? Noooooo! Fury vs Usyk? Noooooo! The MR vs Queens 5x5? Nooooo! The AJ vs Francis show? Nooooo! Those were all shows that made sense to do in Saudi and not America. Bud never fought a big fight outside of Nebraska other than the Spence fight in Vegas so it was no surprise that it would fail in LA. Fury vs Usyk in Saudi is no different than AJ vs Klitschko in London. Those fight make way more dollars and cents....I mean sense, over in the UK than they do in the US. So someone please tell me what is Turki-boy doing that is so spectacular that would make the American audience take notice?
The only thing these outside promoters have managed to do is make an already murky American boxing scene (no pun intended) even murkier. When the rumors came out in early 2018 that HBO was getting out of boxing I thought that the forces of nature were finally going to come together. I thought Golden boy and Top rank had nowhere else to go but Showtime. I thought my dream has come true and all three of the major promoters will finally be under one banner. Sides of DA SKREETS be gone!! Then to my chagrin, TR signs with ESPN and I thought well that's not too bad being as though ESPN should be able to with with Showtime to make fights. Then all of a sudden out of the blue so British based Russian backed network named DAZN came out of nowhere and all holy hell breaks loose......
Terrence Crawford unwittingly resigns with TR with reignites the cold war between them and PBC. Now zero fights with be made between ESPN and Showtime. Canelo UNWITTINGLY signs an exclusive deal with DAZN which essentially takes him away from all his natural American fights between the PBC guys. And mush to our dismay, not only did signing with DAZN wall Canelo off between the PBC guys but they couldn't even get him to fight most of the other guys at MW that they signed until it was too late. Now that it looks like The Russian guy has thrown in the towel because he refuses to waste money on Hearn's incompetence in the American market.... in comes Turki-boy. And it looks like his overseers in the kingdom are not going to let him go down that rabbit hole by wasting billions of the kingdom's money on American boxing when they could be spending that money on building skysc****rs to toss Hoee_moes off of......
So now I'm back to square 1 like it was 2018 and am wishing for American boxing to come together in 2025 like it should've seven years ago. Turki, MR, Queensberry, Ben Shalom and all promoters from the UK to the U.S.S.R. should be showcasing their fights on Dazn. That would help out the UK boxing scene and they can have the coveted major fights in Saudi during Riyadh season. But over in the good ol' USA, Amazon Prime should be the sole home of boxing. ESPN will more than likely drop TR from their network next year. Latino nights in Saudi will never work as well as Latino night in places like...um...I don't know...NEW mexico? LOS angeles? SAN ANtonio? Please!! As I have said on this forum 1000x'sPBC and TR and GBP on PRIME is a WIN WIN WIN for the American boxing scene. Please let it happen in 2025!!!!!
hes making big fights happen, all of the fights hes made may not have happened without him or happened down the line sometime or never
Hey Smashster I love most of your witty wittle posts coming from all the way from King's Landing but this time I need you to educate the American boxing fan. I always hear he is making big fights happen but I need to know which specific big fights is he making in America that will prompt people to subscribe to Dazn for 24.99 per month?

You’re not going to get an answer because the answer is extremely uncomfortable for the “American takeover” crowd
The article states that “his excellency” lost huge money on the so called “biggest card ever” both in ticket sales and ppv. It also stated his budget is being almost halved and that no more fights in the USA. Expect his budget to be further reduced until the saudis pull out of boxing altogether. Once again, the “American takeover” by a foreign entity has failed. G-d I love this country. I love my adopted homeland. Mom, apple pie, and the flag baby!

oh yes the app
that i dont know, i would prefer the fights to be in vegas or somewhere other than saudi but if they have to showcase how they do stuff in saudi then thats ok too, some boxers now have such a high opinion of themselves and believe that deserve top top dollar for the hardest fights so at least turki can help with that, it wont last anyway, the saudis will move on sooner or later
