Comments Thread For: Focus on what Campbell Hatton is, rather than what he is not

Like any name given to a newborn, the name Campbell would have started its life on a shortlist, deliberated over, and measured against other contenders before then being assigned to the child. They at that point would have said: "Yes, he looks like a Campbell. It suits him...

I respect anyone that is going to get in a ring half naked in front of everyone and put their body and brain to the test .

He gave it his best and had the courage to rematch the guy that beat him. That said, he is a domestic journeyman who can make some money from his name for a little while, but the higher levels are not for him.

Just because you share a name doesn’t mean you share the boxing DNA. C. Hatton should find another venture moving forward in his life except boxing, because he’s a C level boxer at best and that’s giving him much more than he deserves out of respect to his pops.

He isn't a puncher, but he isn't a runner. He doesnt maul worth spit, a surprise to me. He wants to push off without leaving a momento. His daddy made the ref pull him off and Josh Taylor smacked them on the way out. Nasty things I don't see in his character.

If nothing else , Campell showed that when the going gets tough , he's going to fight. He's got some dog in him. He can get better. Of course he will never be Ricky Hatton , but not many fighters ever achieve that level. I'd watch Campbell Hatton fight again.

Yeah, say what you want to about CampHat (my nickname I just made up) , but he's not scared.

Maybe training or doing something else in boxing like managing is what's best for him.

If his father wasn't Ricky, nobody would bother to ctiticize him. He's decent enough to fight who he's been fighting, but apparantly not better.

That's okay. If Ali-walsh can make money off half a name, then with some clever moves hatton should be able to cash in while for a while and set himself up for something better.

I'm not making fun, just thinking out loud here. But it's probably tough to grow up idolizing Dad and want to be just like him and then after years of work, and prob excellent coaching, not really be very good.

He couldn't throw a straight punch the other night, but he could prob bust up a lot of average guys anyway. So there's that at least.
