Comments Thread For: Paulie Malignaggi's Picks: Kostya Tszyu bounced back from a KO; so can Tim

I rated Tim Tszyu highly before he entered the ring with Bakhram Murtazaliev - and I still rate him highly

Tim def not as skilled as his father Kostya back in his time. Want to think Tim completely underestimated Murta and thought he could get him out quick, boy was he wrong lol. Still you dont go recklessly careless like that.

Good insights and commentary from Paulie. So true that honest, old-school fighters get punished by today's fickle fans for seeking glory (win or lose) against the best competition while the prima donnas get hailed as ATG's for taking higher profile but safe fights.

If this is true; That Tszyu had been instructed to be cautious in the first four rounds then he had no business challenging him in the first place.

The bottomline is that this was a very poor matchmaking decision by Team Tszyu. He was both overmatched and lost as a result of it. It was too soon.

Kostya Tszyu was was a well rounded fighter who only needed minor tweaks to his game.

Umm, im not so sure. You would of thought he learned something from the fight with Fundora. He lost the second fight for basically the same reason.
