Andre Dirrell Takes a Second Chance at Gold

By Cliff Rold - It’s a sign of the fistic times.

In the anticipated Super Middleweight tournament dubbed the “Super Six,?which features three of the best in the U.S. versus three of the best in Europe in the opening round, none of the Americans are favored to win their opening bouts. None of the Americans are heavily favored to win the tournament in general.

27-year old 2004 U.S. Olympic Middleweight Andre Dirrell (18-0, 13 KO) can’t be concerned about the fighting the odds. His concern will have to be fighting 32-year old WBC titlist Carl Froch (25-0, 20 KO) on Froch’s home turf in Nottingham this Saturday night.

That’s enough to think about. [details]

Although some nagging American Patriotism has me rooting for Dirrell, I really dont see it happening. Froch is just too tough mentally and physically, at some point he is gonna get to Dirrell and that will be that.

There may be many criticisms of Froch, but boring should not be one them my friend, I take it you haven't seen many of his fights.

I think he was calling Dirrell boring, not Froch.

i dont see how anyone could think either of them are boring..dirrell had a lackluster performance against stevens a long time ago..since then he has looked pretty exciting to watch IMO

I don't think Dirrell is ready for Froch. Froch by KO/TKO between 8-11.
