Nice write up.

Dubois is exciting to watch. He's a bit of a 90s throwback fighter with the size to match the current crop. Pretty beatable in my view, but it's hard to imagine him being in a bad fight.

It will be interesting to see how the next era develops. Dubois himself might not be the kind of character that carries a division, but with the Saudis in the mix he might not need to be. It could be the era where the best regularly fight each other to wins, draws and losses. I'll take substance over personality and "will they/won't they" drama any day of the week.

I want to see what Eddy does for the rematch. Will he throw AJ to the dogs? Will he try to meddle? Will he avoid the fight? Hard to say, AJ is Eddys creation.

And thats why you dont milk mega fights. If they simmer too long they either get past their prime or this happens. Especially HW. Joshua Fury/Wilder couldve made 100 million apiece, but now they are both poof. They were scared to lose the cash cow. Now the golden goose might spot you a twenty for old times sake.
And it diminished their legacies by a lot.
So lets say AJ had fought Wilder when it was big, made 100 million and one gets KO'd. Let's say it was AJ got KO'd. He might then have KOd Hrgvyck his next fight. Then he'd be all the way back in the picture. Thats still getting the big payday and still being relevant instead of no big payday but several smaller ones instead. Or maybe he'd still fight Fury since there would be a better chace of that now. Another giant bag.
Wilder get's KO'd by AJ, theres a great chance the Wilder vs Fury fights still get made. But then Fury wouldve had to fight AJ first. If Fury wins or loses to AJ, he's got Wilder next and winner gets AJ for another huge payday. Dont forget the huge rematch after that.
Also, the economy has changed since then, there wouldnt be any 100 million now even if they stayed undefeated and fought tomorrow.
Scared fools. The legacy of today's boxing.

Oh and cong**** to Dubois, he's succeeding by taking risks without the real push behind him.
He's not my favorite HW but he's growing on me.


And I can't help but point out that in 2015, when these guys could've fought, my top guy at that time is Luis Ortiz.

Dubois beat a chinny hype job in a local derby for a trash belt he never earnt. Put some perspective on it.

And while you're at it, put some respect on Joseph Parkers name. A new era won't be heralded until he gets beaten again.
