Many will disagree with you. Plant fought gallantly against Benavidez and prolly won the first 6 rounds.
Two, the guy’s mouth is what has gotten him the big fights and if he beats this guy, a showdown with Canelo will not be far fetched considering Canelo has no plans to face Benavidez.

That said, Plant will beat McCumby.

Plant is annoying for sure, but that is what enables him to get attention and make lucrative fights. He has done well for himself and his family. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the power to stop or drop the top tier fighters. At this point, he probably has reached his limit.
