Comments Thread For: Sunny Edwards Wins Cut-Shortened Bout Over Adrian Curiel

Sunny was unlucky with the cut tbh.

He fought like himself again, to the point where the commentators were talking about how they couldn't understand why he ever tried to engage with Bam.

I don't want to see him rematch Bam but I do love that Sunny Edwards is back doing his thing.

      Edwards answered that question

The damage to his eye meant he couldn't judge distance at range like he wanted and felt he was much safer at close range where he could feel Bam. He couldn't really see shots coming well at mid range and knew that's asking for trouble vs Bam.

When your vision is making you not see the shots properly, often the safest place to fight is at closer range but sadly for Sunny, he's always going to be outmatched by Bam in that kinda fight.

Besides, even if Sunny was able to implement his own style a bit more, I still think Bam's feet are as good or better anyway.

This writer is bias or crazy. Sunny was booed because all he did was pot shot, hug and run. The Mexican fans appreciate good wins but not like that. A boring fighter who has the advantage of being a Brit and therefore is protected by Hearn and DAZN, a Brit company. Curiel was chasing him like Tom to Jerry.

This was a showcase imo Because of Curiels feet Edward’s was able to do his thing. Bach in the win column on a great card, very mature decision to do so. The main event was fire

After Bam's dismantling of Estrada last night, it's indisputable that Sunny is not and never will be on Bam's level.
I don't ever want to hear Sunny or anyone else calling for a rematch.
The Brits can entertain themselves with Edwards fighting for regional (UK) 'supremacy'.

I don't know. It wasn't like a Stevenson match by any means. Yes, he uses movement, but man he nailed Curiel so many times.

He has quick hands and good angles. If he had enough power, any of those shots could've ended Curiel. But he doesn't have that power, so it just kept going.

They were booing because they're the most backwards and biased in all of sport. They literally know nothing. Like yourself.

Mexicans cheer when their guy boxes and uses the ring. But when they get it done to them, their ego can't take it so they discredit them for it. They're hypocrites.

Sunny clowned Curiel for shlts and giggles. He dominated and clearly won every round. The fact you think there was any bias against Curiel just shows the level of delusion you operate on. The cards were grotesque. But anyone who is anyone who watches boxing, knows about the corruption Mexicans always get in their favour. To have Sunny winning by 2 and 3 after 8 when he won every single round and did so easily, shows the level of corruption where you're from. Hell, Benn dominated that Mexican and won every round with ease only to find one of the judges had given the Mexican 4 rounds. How is that possible? I'll tell you. It's corruption to it's core. Without it, you're nothing. You're just limited punchbags for the boxing world.

The only thing Curiel chased was punches to the face and missing by a mile due to being nowhere near Sunny's level.

But it was hilarious watching Curiel get badly outclassed and not be able to do anything about it. He even shook his head when he lost because he like all the Mexicans, expected the usual robbery. You're just embarrassing.

Sunny is world class. Whether you want to see the rematch or not with Bam.

Bam won against Estrada who was coming off 3 straight robberies and had been out of the ring for 18 months. The same way all his top opponents had been disadvantaged. The same with Sunny when he weighed in much earlier to put on as much weight as possible and be the bigger stronger man. Then they made sure to shut Sunny's movement down by getting the smallest ring allowed.

Last night was predictable under those conditions. When Bam doesn't face an inactive opponent and without any other advantages, it's going to be a huge shock for him.
