Called himself “the problem” and then lived up to his name. His humiliation by Maidana is a classic if you enjoy seeing a foul, ill-mannered, swaggering snot get put in his place.

Well duh, he's an example of exactly what's wrong with modern boxing.

In the 60s & '70s, he would've been lucky to be a 1 division champion.

All champions, and I mean ALL champions are the product of timing, preparation, and opportunity. No fighter gets to pick the era that they are in, nor the champs that are enthroned at the time of a championship opportunity Also this idea that Broner not staying connected to a certain division is a straw man argument, when most of the most revered fighters went up in weight and had selective results. There's a reason why Roy Jones Jr wanted no parts of Lennox Lewis but wanted John Ruiz. Oscar De La Hoya found out real quick that middleweight wasn't the business. When you look at any champions resume hard enough, it turns into the classic argument about stats: you can bend them in any direction you want. You can scrutinize whatever you want. No one is flawless, there is always some achievement or opportunity that was left on the table or some flaw.

Wasted opportunities by Broner? Sure. Questionable character? Absolutely. Did he push the narrative of a Floyd successor and run his mouth more than his skills could cash? Yep. But you can't state the words -the worst- and his outcomes in the sentence. Not when you got guys barely winning one championship, Perspective.

Well stated. The internet brings out the worst in people. Here we have guys who have probably never been in a fist fight in their lives calling professional fighters , and Champions " Bums". The disrespect is incredible.

then he jumped 2 division for some odd reason

maybe he was just a fantastic weight bully, if thats what he was of course or lower weight guy

Agreed. If I was one of 23 people (if that number is accurate. I’m just following off what someone else said) to ever be a 4 division champion, just 23?! Count me in as volunteering to claim “Hey I’m the worst of the 23”. Cuz who cares! You can tell your family, Hey, only 22 other people in the entire history of the world, have been able to accomplish what I did….. I’d be content and happy with that!!!

As the one guy here said…… perspective

Mentioning Roy and Oscar actually solidifies the argument that we are making. NOBODY takes Roys heavyweight title seriously, and NOBODY thought the Sturm fight made Oscar a credible middleweight. We all knew the deal. It was simply a function of matchmaking. And thats not even mentioning that Oscar got a gift vs Sturm, same as Broner got gifts vs Paulie and maybe even Ponce. But thats Broners story to a T. cmon, his BEST win is Demarco. Vacant titles against sub-par opposition, and ONE credible win against Demarco. Thats it. EVERY time he stepped past that level, he got beat.

His first gift was vs Ponce De Leon and that is saying something, because Ponce will never be remember as an excellent Mexican champion. Paulie says Broner was a world class fighter, because he fought him. Other than this the 2 of them weren’t what their mind thought!
Except that Paulie heart was 3 times bigger than Broner
